I managed to buy a collection of over 100lbs of Pokémon Cards for $160 and searched through them to find holographic cards. Did I make my money back or was this a complete waste?

I’ve lived in the same city for all 34 years of my life. My parents got rid of all my childhood belongings when I left for college, a few years ago when I began yard sailing to recollect I came across a small PlayStation lot and it was my games from when I was younger. Still had my name written inside one of them. Still blows my mind to this day how many hands they must have exchanged only for them to return home to me 🤣🤙

This is a VERY good buy. While condition of most may be lightly played, there should be some near mint in there. Sorting low value V cards by set and selling in sets may be a good tactic. If you really want to put the time in, you might find near complete sets which would sell well. As for the vintage, get them all sleeved and in top loaders and note their condition as per TCG Player.

I bought a lot of 20 holos for 30 bucks which included a gold star flareon, gold star vaporeon, Supreme victors charizard, and others which came out to 1k. I always find a good deal every once in awhile! It's fun and then I can sell the bigger hitters to fund the cards I like to keep for myself. Hope whoever wins the stadium enjoys it as much as you do!

I truly believe that one of the rarest card that you can get at events for not an insane amount happens to be the holographic Chansey from base set 1st edition not really in terms of the card itself but for one to be graded a 10 is extremely unlikely. Something about the holographic pattern that prints off.

Wow, this is an amazing find! I think the best find I ever had was probably 15+ years ago, when we got 2 Gamecubes with controllers, games, and they had the GBA player on them with the disc for around $50-60. Those things would have been worth a small fortune if I still had them today. Haha!

Insanely good deal. The Sabrina's Genger and Base Set Venusaur are basically your money back all by themselves, with everything else being pure profit. I'd say you could get around $5k after selling everything.

Amazing? Where? 8000 cards and not one of them worth even a dollar. What is so crazy and amazing about that. To make a profit you need to get more than 2 cents per card. Good luck with that. I'll give you 2 cents a piece for the sleeves but I don't want anything to do with the cards. Even if the cards were free I wouldn't want them. Not worth the time of sorting through them especially in that condition.

@@buffalobill9793 everything else was bulk cards. But the vintage foils, especially the first edition can go for $100-5000 per card depending on the condition and grading if he gets it graded. Then there's the modern full art or alternate art foils that can go for $20-300 per card depending on what it is. You can go look up cards on TCG player to see card values. For vintage Pokemon cards, find cards from "Base Set" and you'll see why it's so crazy in value.

This was basically market value for bulk. You have absolutely no idea what you're talking about value wise or even card wise.

My best garage sale find was probably a deck of Pokémon cards that contained a Base Set Charizard card and a non-holo Legendary Collection Charizard card. I payed $1 for the deck. This was a few years before 2020 though, I can't find anything nice anymore and in my area, the early birds hit garage sales long before they open (even when the sale says "no early birds) and hardly anybody sells rare Pokémon stuff for good deals now that everybody knows about Pokémon stuff. I miss the old days. As for non-Pokémon finds, I found several old Digimon Digivices at a garage sale back around 2010. Though nowadays I never see Digimon stuff at garage sales.

The best find I ever had at a garage sale was an old Scotty Cameron putter, if you don't know how crazy that is Scotty Cameron putters are around $400+ new and even more if they are vintage, it was in perfect condition. I bought it from him for $100 and looked it up that night and it's being sold for around $700.

BEST FIND EVER! Was doing a delivery for a guy and I noticed in his garage he had a ton of gen 1 vintage Star Wars toys ALL still in the boxes. I stopped him immediately and had to ask him about them, he said that he has been trying to get rid of them and asked if I was interested. I ended up buying every single thing he had, dropped $1,500 on the whole set and it is worth WAY MORE! A bunch of error Luke Skywwalkers and Darth Vaders (light sabers are shorter and not long like they are so suppose to be) Best find I ever had!

Hey you missed some good commons in the old cards that are worth a few bucks. Anytime u see an old Eevee, Pikachu or any of the three starters u should separate it from the bulk. I know it's not a garage sale find, but yesterday I was at my local goodwill and I saw a purple Monster S video cable, I knew it was for the Gamecube, but I didn't think it had too much value, so I put it back and went home. I checked it on eBay and to my surprise the cable sells for almost $100, I immediately drove back and luckily it was still there, and for only $6. Keep an eye out for it while hunting. I might just list it on my eBay store or collect it.

easy way to find out how much your cards could be worth is to take them all out and lay them side by side on the floor and take a pic with your phone you can us google image to check each card in 1 image with the zoom in and out part and just look up the image of the card for pirces xD

I feel like you should do more research on pokemon sets since you are already diving into people's old collections... for the most part you can tell where the money is but its more interesting to watch when KZbinrs give the audience more information on what we are hoping to find versus you asking us to let you know if there's something good you bought and what the prices are...

All those big cards are probably 5 dollars each. I didn't check for sure but I sold some of those for that awhile back. For celebrations, it's worth keeping all those holographic. I think the Xerneas holo's go for like 5 dollars a piece, for example. I suggest collecting all the celebrations cards and seeing what goes for what. Unfortunately, it looks like he picked out the ones he liked. As for the v cards, I suggest bundling them and selling them for a dollar apiece. There are probably 30-40 dollars in v cards that'll sell quickly. I would say you could probably make about 300-400 based on the bulk and the ones that are worth more than pennies. But it'll take a while to sell all that bulk. Not to mention it'll take a while to sift through and organize it. I would say... probably not worth it considering the gas money it took to get there and back and the time it'll take to sell everything. But you can recoup some of the loss quickly in the celebrations, v cards, and a few other examples such as Sabrina's Gengar.

Best offer up find I bought was a Pokémon small binder for $150 and a guy was getting rid of his 1995- 1999 duplicates he said he didn’t want anymore. So I met up with the guy and brought the book back home and when I went through it, it had over 50 vintage holographics and continuous pulls from the book. So more then I expected and valued over $1000. Great to look into treasures that ppl sell off

You have $160 there in the bulk alone. That tub is at at least 1 sports card 5000 count box full, which fits roughly 7000 pokemon cards. Pokemon bulk is 2 cents a card for the non holos. That's liquid too. Pretty much any card shop will make that exchange right away, and if not there are several online buylists that will pay that for bulk. If you want to take more time you could make bulk and foil lots and Amazon FBA them or ebay.

So you definitely made half your money back on just vintage cards and it might take time to sell the rest but we all just have time in life anyways so it wasn’t a bad buy in my opinion. I would definitely bulk out the common uncommon and rares along with basic trainers and energies. As for the rest I would do lots with no duplicates of the V cards and Vmax, and then do bulk stacks of holos and reverse holos. And as you are listing use TCG to scan every card in those lots to know what their value is
