I bought a $300 saxophone on Amazon... this is what it sounds like.

A few months ago I decided to start playing saxophone again. Saxophones are VERY expensive instruments, so I knew (OR THOUGHT) that I was going to drop about $1000 into this hobby.

I used to play saxophone in college and I always played Selmer and Yamaha saxophones. These saxophones are AWESOME, but they cost a pretty penny. The thought of spending this much money on a saxophone right now made me a bit nervous.
I thought that $330 was a pretty good deal, so I decided to buy the sax. I've been playing it on and off for a few weeks now and here's what it sounds like.

The saxophone has a bit of a learning curve because the music for it is written in music notation. The technique part is easy compared to other instruments, it just takes practice

Now 2 years later - how do you like your Mendini tenor sax? I just bought the Jean Paul Tenor, and the Ammoon Soprano - returned the soprano - junk. My favorite sax is a jenor, however, I just bought the Mendini Alto, and it seems to perform better than the Jean Paul Tenor, so Now I am considering buying the Mendini tenor. Are you happy with it?

he definitely does not need a yas custom. those are professional instruments for college and above players with probably at least 10 years of experience. honestly get a normal yamaha intermediate its going to last him so long and you wont break the bank

You will have to let me know how it works out for you in about 3 months. As a middle school director I can tell you that Mendini are one of the Worst brands, they sound nice brand new. Use them for a while and you will notice a difference, or one of the pads or springs will just fall off. There is a reason we pay good money for good product. You know this, its why you don't play Mitchell Uke or other knock off brands. Don't believe the Hype Mendini will fail every time.
