What is funny, you can make plugin like this in few minutes, this plugin can disable basic propertiess that make meshes lag such as hitboxes and collisions, many don't know they exist what is understood, second thing that usually lags the game is stressing scripts, they cannot be fixed by plugins. And the last hardest way to optimize is handle not important visuals on client, if it's not important or doesn't block raycasts then go for it, your game would be thankfull

So this is basically the same thing at replace a decent to high poly mesh with a low poly version of it from far away, i don't think $500 is a good price for it, we could do something script instead to replace the tree with a low poly version of it based on how far we are from that tree and if far enough we could just make it so it hides the tree model and replace it with a image of a tree instead.

Maybe its me but the techniques used did come off a bit basic. In his case it did what he wanted so I’d say it was worth it for him but definitely could have been done better and probably even smoother.

Ive read the documentation on the plugin and it does ALOT more than just that, I truely believe if you have an open world type game and need it to be optimised that this plugin using all its features could make it run on a toaster

The plugin is definitely worth it it just depends on a persons financial choices and if they can afford it.

You did cut the poly count, but hows your loading time now? if you have alot of images, thats alot of loading time, not all about poly counts.

@@AfterschoolParties I have not only watched the video but checked the plugin's website. The only feature that's "unique" is the heatmap for triangles which can already be visualized with triangle rendering. Every other feature is some performance upgrade which changes models depending on their distance to the camera of hides objects when they're not in sight and that's easily remakable. Developers would rather prefer making their own performance system that adapts to their game enviromment. The plugin is not worth $500, id price it at $100 at max. These methods have been used since the dawn of game development and are not innovative + there are many documents online on how to practically make one for your game.

I was making one with a friend and the map was about 10x the size of yours. It took 2 years and we were at the point where all we needed to do was hire a coder. And then the unthinkable happened. Roblox deleted the entire map because of a glitch in the servers. 😢I’m still pretty sad about it
