I'm a locksmith for car keys and I bought bw100 for the shop on your recommendation a couple years back. Stuff legit works miracles. It's saved countless car key fobs, small electronics, and even an electric chainsaw. Stuff is magic in a can, worth the price!

As someone who has been repairing laptops for over 20 years I can safely say you make this look easier than it is to repair small electronics.

@@Holycurative9610 with repetition it is easy. I’ve replaced the usb c port on at least 30-40 switches now. Pretty easy.

I wish I had started doing this in my 20's vs trying to start in my 30's. The accuracy and delicate touch required only get harder to maintain with age...

Be sure to test the SL and SR buttons on the side of the detachable joy-cons! Most of time that's the problem the nintendo switches have as a lot of nintendo games do use these buttons a lot.

It drives me crazy seeing items that people have returned to the store that they have obviously damaged.

It sort of drives me crazier that people have returned stuff as defective that had nothing wrong with it.
@williamharris83674 сағат бұрын
What else should people do with damaged electronics? There are very few places that do repairs; even our host only works on his own account. My Grandfather liked to put non-working items into storage (as he lacked the skills to fix them), but that stuff all just went to landfill after he died. Personally, I donate non-working electronics to a local thrift shop that sells things as is, no returns. I expect that resellers then list the items online as untested. I like to contribute to the circle of life as these items are passed along from one seller to another.

Nice work, and also nice that most were pretty easy fixes! What is this tool you have to remove broken headphone jacks?! I've never seen this before.

I agree I like the lite for having separate parts , but I hate all the screws and all the different length screws, there is so much to take apart for a repair, so because I prefer sticking with the og Switch!

I went to an return bin store. Went on $5 day. Found some awesome stuff. Including an oled switch. Which only needed new charge port and be cleaned. They had it hidden on the bottom of a bin. And told people that an oled switch is in one of the bins. Best score from an bin store yet. Seen videos of people finding stuff like that. Thought that it was rigged. Till this.

Next time you have a stripped screw. Put a rubber band between the driver and the screw. It adds more grip while filling in the gaps from the damage.

Whow, can you link to or provide the name of the tool use used to extract the broken off headphone jack tip? I've had to work on devices before with similar issues and it took me much longer than that using different techniques. Super awesome tool to have!
@AlPalC11 сағат бұрын
My OLED has the same issue with the left joycon just not connecting. It only happened if I only had the tablet docked. I detatched and reattached the ribbon cable at least 2 times. Now I just keep joycons on when it's docked to keep that from happening again

Hey Steve, if you get a very little bit of moister in a usb port, can you use BW-100 to spray in there, mix with the moister and evaporate? To dry out the port? Im not talking a lot of moister just basically just from a over humid environment.
