Cool story how you ended up with the canoe. Hope you enjoy it for a long time. Getting rained out by the remnants of hurricane Debbie. Sitting in the house bottling honey. Have a great day brother!

Do you have wild rice in your area. I used to go with my dad and harvest rice in northern Minnesota in a canoe. The rice attracts alot of water fowl. He also moose hunted from it but unfortunately I was to small to accompany him.
@thecamocowboyoutdoors56933 ай бұрын
Yes, there is wild rice in some places. You have to get a permit to seed it. I think it would do well on this lake. It would be nice to Moose hunt from a canoe since it's so quiet. Sorry you never got to go with your Dad. Those would have been great memories, I'm sure. Thx for taking the time to watch, my friend. Have a great day.

WHOO HOO!!! I Love Canoes! They are my most favorite boats. I didn't know Coleman didn't make them anymore. I think mine is a Coleman, but now I'm not sure? The one I got from Tony Epper, the actor, was but it's got some really big cracks in it now. No fish in that lake? Damn! That's just not right!!!! What about Crawdads and things? Best things about a canoe is the quite, and if there's 4 inches of water, you can go there!
@thecamocowboyoutdoors56933 ай бұрын
I like canoes too! We are a little to far north for Crawdads. There are some in the province farther south. Just Minnows in this lake. There has been fish a couple times over the years but this lake is to shallow most times and they die from lack of oxygen. I would like to get Perch started. I think they might survive. Thx for watching brother! Hope you folks are having a good day.

Awesome Coleman canoe! I bought one on marketplace a few years back a big green 16 footer with a flat stern for the electric motor when I'm feeling lazy and don't want to paddle 😃 That is a beautiful lake!
@thecamocowboyoutdoors56932 ай бұрын
@oldnewtrapper5330 I'm really loving this canoe. I kinda wished it had a flat stern as well, but I guess I could manufacture a mount to put on there if need be. Thx a lot Brother!

Nothing like a canoe to connect with nature. It is my favorite passtime & I have several. My favorite is an old Town because it handles really nicely & it is very stable. I also like a 15' Nova kevlar but it is a bit cranky. My first canoe was a 15' Coleman & I wore it out. Can't go wrong with a Coleman. Since Pelican took them over the quality went downhill. May she serve you well. Take care.
@thecamocowboyoutdoors56933 ай бұрын
I wondered about that because I looked at some Pelicans and they look cheaper made than this Coleman. I hope I will get many good years of use and enjoyment out of this canoe. I'm sure I will use it a fair bit. Thx for your input and for watching, brother. Have a good weekend.

A larger canoe is more stable. But I would put an outrigger on it that you could even stand on to cast for fishing.
@thecamocowboyoutdoors56933 ай бұрын
I have a 12 foot and a 14 foot aluminum boat that I normally use when I'm fishing, but if I use the canoe I think I would put on a outrigger. Definitely makes them more stable. Thx for watching my friend. Have a good weekend.

@thecamocowboyoutdoors56933 ай бұрын
Surprisingly, none. I have enough base tan on my arms that I'm ok in the sun for awhile. Being out in the water is bad for burns though. When I was in Spain, the top of my head even burned, and I have a full head of hair! Thx for watching my fellow Canuck! You have a great weekend.
