Have the older version but great saw been using for 5 years only problem is the case leaks chain oil and have to learn choke start process. A little hard to start at times but one hell of a saw. PS. get you a skip tooth or none safety chain will cut alot better just keep your RPM up to avoid kick back. Also use stihl synthetic oil when you mix your own.

Just bought this saw at the end of 2020 and downed 9 large dead standing ash trees, cut them up and yielded about 11 face cord after splitting. The saw never failed me once and go figure I bought it from Lowes the store everyone hates to love. Next year I'm buying the 450, only because I have some really big Oak and Maple trees that need to come down. It's going be nice for my children to watch a new forest to grow in it's place, with fresh new trees. Laughing at him cutting off the Bar/chain protector when it simply slides off..:-)

Lol @ the comment about how that tree coulda killed him. Sometimes when i cut trees like this i just cut 95 percent and push the tree over in the direction i prefer it to go its so small. There has to be atleast a few critics on every chainsaw video talking about how the guy nearly killed himself just by picking the saw up and cutting a few twigs.. lol

The way he was going with the saw he would be more likely to cut himself . Not much to worry about with a tree that small as far as falling it . I hope you were kidding , I got a little chuckle with that .

I was and still a professional tree feller and all I can say they are alot of arm chair experts. It does not take a very big tree to be dangerous or kill you. This tree was plenty big and heavy enough had it barberchaired or kicked back. Just a small dead limb coming loose while cutting and falling on your head can kill.. I have seen more than my share of bad accidents with people who think they can run a saw. I am retired these days but I still get people that call me when they have a dangerous tree no one else will cut. Because I have the experience and specialized in directional felling.

Its amazing you still have all of your limbs or are not dead. You have around 1 minute if you put it through your Femoral Archery. You are not above not using safety Trousers , Boots and Gloves on. You do not get a second chance with a Chainsaw.

I get a stomach ache when I see an amateur try and cut down a tree that way. Lucky the tree was not bigger as the person could get really horribly injured or even die if ...... Would highly recommend Redfern Food Forest a course in tree felling before starting that chainsaw again.

@@RedfernFoodForest Oh it's hard to sit here and teach remotely, but if you do not try and fell a tree that has a larger trunk diameter than your sword is far/long where you cut and use the first felling method described in the video in the link from that time it starts, you avoid the worst traps. I would recommend afterwards that you watch the entire video several times, in order to learn the basic rules of using a chainsaw safely. Good luck. kzbin.info/www/bejne/eqCYdZmhfaebqsk

@@RedfernFoodForest Changing the blade for the first time didn't push the handle, my fault but poor design . I have owned it for 12 years hardly ever use it. Had it in the shop 3 times $75 a trip. just bogged down. I believe it was running on one cylinder, can't remember if it was carb or what. I paid up thinking it would be maintenance and trouble free easy to work on. It seem like every time I pick it up there's an issue. Cheaper saws run better easy to change blades and if they don't, just get a new one, still cost less. Oh and constantly leaks bar oil. Not a good saw for a home owner or someone that doesnt use it much. It needs to be run all the time.
