I don’t see the appeal of these pens at all, but then again, I have zero (negative?) fine art skills. It’s why I tend toward fluid and resin art - you mix, pour, then it does it’s own thing, and voila, art! 😁 But I love your videos, and this was great fun to watch. 👍

Yeah a good fluid art moment is always nice, definitely not gunna be able to do that with a 3D pen 😂 And I'm glad you enjoyed the video Luxinda! 😊😊

I've always wanted to try the 3D pen out but never really had the budget to get into it because you need a bunch of the filament to make anything even remotely worthwhile and that's not a cheap material. I made a unicorn wire sculpture back when I was in art college and I quite enjoyed it. If I were to try out the 3D pen I'd probably make wire looking sculptures that had the same kind of look and energy to the real wire ones. That way too, I wouldn't have to worry about blocking anything in, and it would save on materials. I would absolutely use it to make sculptures and possibly acessories for my dolls.
@AnthonyCrammen3 жыл бұрын
Well I definitely don't think you're missing out on much, especially like you said that you can get similar results with wire. But maybe one day you might get your hands on one to have a little play with it. Think there are some cheaper models out there too, but I dread to think what they'll end up being like! 😅
@paranoiarpincess3 жыл бұрын
@@AnthonyCrammen because of the arthritis in my hands, often the kind of wire that holds weight and it's shape is nearly too stiff to work with. That said, from what you've shown us, at least it would mean I could control it lol. I have to say appreciate ypur review though. Now I know that I would have to spend even more than I had originally thought, whether it be on a higher end pen, or more filament to replace the stuff the pen likes to spew everywhere :S. Sorry you had to waste your money on it so we could see why to, at the very least put off buying the thing, but also thank you lol... again :3♡♥︎

i don't use it all the time, bud i find it useful, combined with for example wood burning tool to smooth the plastic,... also for repairing things, oh also i shoot the plastic in a silicone mold for example tiny flower, pres it in quick witch something, and you basically get a resin piece type of thing in seconds, i have made jewelry ,or names, greetings, embellishment for wishing cards, it's like you said, it's practice, and see how to i combine it with other materials, i mean i have seen people make smooth action figures with it, oh mine was 25 Euro's bud it's pink, i like it more in white ,i promise, you'll find use for it, i mean it's art supply, never to much of them in ones home wright :-p

I don't get the appeal, either. I've seen people make some really cool things with them, but there's better mediums to use to make the things they made. Like, those Mario and Luigi heads, for example. If the person has that much skill using a fiddly plastic pen, then why not use Sculpey or some other type of clay? You would get better results and it would probably take much less time. As a kid I would have had a ball with that thing, though. My whole room would have been covered in plastic nonsense. Now, I'm thinking it could be pretty fun to cover a blank lamp shade with a bunch of different colored filament, or a window, or a hat, or something.
@AnthonyCrammen3 жыл бұрын
