The 3D printed insert elevates this to such a higher level. This is amazing and makes me want to do something similar, then I think about it and I'm like, I have a Steam Deck that I emulate games on and I find that I barely use emulation on that, as well as I am playing newer games on it more often than not. When would I use a super badass Gameboy Advance SP? The AGS-101 in my closet is already not getting any use! I would use it as a display piece if anything and that's not enough. :(

And this is why I don't use aftermarket shells, except for the aluminum Boxy Pixel shells. Almost all of them are trash, and it's just not worth the headache to figure out which ones are worth a damn. Also why I don't use automatic screwdrivers.
