@sarahd12618 ай бұрын
Yes!!! I too have done this… very little if any ironing needed if you do it this way. On a windy day I would clothespin the hangers to the clothesline so they wouldn’t blow away.

Living in Australia I have learnt to hang my clothes inside out so that the sun doesn't fade the outside. Then I hang everything from the shoulders otherwise things get out of shape. I have been doing this now for over 50 years & it takes me years to wear my clothes out. Then I cry as my clothes become a part of me. It is interesting to see old photos & there I am wearing the same garments 20 years or more ago. In fact, I still have one dress I used to wear when my granddaughter was a baby & she will be 30 next year.

Super start on your new channel - good for you buying this house and fixing it up. New tip for using a clothesline - each time, take a clean wet cloth with you to clean your line before hanging. Its frustrating to discover dirt on clean clothes after all the work of washing and hanging. Its amazing what lands on it - obviously birds and their poop but mice can run across and even just soot from chimneys. PS why masking outdoors necessary?

You might like a clothespin caddy, they are very handy for keeping your pins close at hand but also protected from the sun. And if it rains you can grab it and bring all the pins in at once. They look like a small item of clothing on a hanger but have an opening to reach inside and are full of your clothes pins. You hang it on the line and move it as you go, then take it back in with your basket when you are done. I've never bought one myself, I've always made mine and everyone else's that wants one, lol. You just need to pick out a toddlers dress from a thrift store, sew the hem and arm holes closed and Voilá! Just put it on a hanger and use the neck and maybe some of the open fastenings as your access to the inside. Sometimes you need to get a child hanger or insert the hanger before you sew the hem.

Oh Julie i was just watching you enjoying hanging your cloths to dry with your new wooden pins and you mentioned someone warning about leaving them out in the rain yes the wood will rot and i had a fond memory of my mother hanging our cloths out to dry when i was a child and you know she had sew a cloths pin bag 🎒 she used a cloths hanger and a bath towel i believe folded up sewing the top around the sholders of the hanger and leaving an opening to drop her cloths pin in and take out,geez wish i had a picture of it to send ya but i know you are quite crafty and I'm sure you can figure one out but she found it easier to carry in and out as we had 7 in our family and required lots of pins for weekly laundry. Your excitement over the little things in life just brings me joy 😊
