My mother has a 2006, red, same spec, 22k miles! Full main dealer history. So easy to park, honest little car and hasn’t had a single fault (had to re gas AC). A lot to be said for simple little cars like this. PS, AC and electric front windows all you really need. Another cracking video Matt, can’t hide your enthusiasm for such a rare low miles find! Somebody will have years of cheap, fun and reliable motoring with that!

I bought an 05 plate Hyundai Getz from an elderly neighbour who gave up driving at 91! 12,000 miles in 16 years! Inside was mint, a few minor marks on the exterior, but most polished out fine, the best bit was the price, just £500 😁

What that means is they have most likely done lots of short journeys, the engine wear per mile on short journeys is much higher than engine wear per mile on longer journeys. A low mileage car doesn't mean it's in good condition.

Thirteen hundred miles will be around six tanks of fuel. These cars have tiny fuel tanks and my 2010 picanto gets 270 miles to a full tank. More petrol will have been evaporated than burned internally!😅

Most reliable car I ever had! Drove it as my first car and we had it in family for years. Apart from regular service, nothing broke on it except speed senzor since new and that was it. What a beast!

My father-in-law is 82, and has had a 10-plate Picanto identical (right down to the colour) to this from new. It's done 80k now and has never once failed to proceed. Brilliant little cars that run on fresh air.

After watching this and doing my research, I got a 2008 picanto! So nippy and easy to park and is the best little car for my first car! It’s never had any advisories and such a good service history

The picanto is such an underated car. They just work and super mechanical they feel like your actually in charge of what it does. My dad bought one during covid as a second car and it has been super reliable.

That Kia dealer was taking the piss with that servicing - take the customer for uneeded oil/filters etc but let them drive around with shit tires and knackered wipers.

I actually think there is a thing as too few miles for a car. The fact the car had been sitting for such a long time would be a red flag for me.

Exactly. Cars like to be driven and engines need to get hot. I dread to think of the amount of corrosion inducing condensation that's been produced inside that engine! 100 odd miles a year is damagingly low in my opinion. I'd rather pick something with 100k over that!

I love the Picanto, looks silly and tiny but is like a Tardis when you get in it. Not sure I could live with the tiny 68BHP engine but I believe the new version has a 100bhp Turbo in the top spec version. That in a car that weight only slight more than a lettuce leaf must be serious fun to drive.

I drive a lot for work and living in Northern Ireland there's a lot of country roads to navigate. Tractors are less of an issue than getting stuck behind these! Usually driven by someone thats about 106

What amazes me is that for a car thats only done 1,300 miles it still has 3 lots of battle damage. Imagine there would be no straight panel if it had done expected mileage for its years.

I was thinking the same thing, I don't think that's been sitting under a carport etc as suggested, it's been out in a communal car park or something which, especially as it's hardly moved, doubles the risk of getting scraped/ scratched, or we can just stick to it must have been owned by Mr Magoo or Stevie Wonder 😂

MOTs in Northern Ireland are in a government place and the waiting times are months if you don't sit on the laptop refreshing and refreshing. They definitely are a lot stricter than in England.

Years ago I had a traded in Picanto as a courtesy car for a day. An earlier model than this one but low usage having been mostly attached to a motorhome for a few years. Of course it was a ridiculous little thing.... but it had the very best manual gearchange I have ever driven. I was amazed. Kia was not a well known brand at the time.

First thing that came to mind with that NO BRAKES sign was that a mechanic at Kia has maybe taken the brakes apart but had to move the car for some reason or another and left a note on it so no one's gonna take off with it. Maybe the note was just left there by accident... 🤷

Obviously with that mileage the brakes are nearly unworn, but cars like it when you drive them and sat around for years on end with a few miles driven now and then I bet the discs were rusty as an old hammer...

Result! I knew a woman at work who told me once that her old Mazda did 250 miles between MOTs. It was used once a week for a big Sainsbury's shop but your car has done even less than that. Hope you get your asking price.

I've remember, that my friend back in 2017, bought Picanto highest specks,2011 low miles which was 38k miles with full service fresh MOT for 1100£ . And now it's like upside down,big engine's go cheeper than same year small engine.. Cuz I've got offered to grab BMW 330i 2010 for 2235, with full service and MOT till 6/24

Amazing find, looks like after the first year the owner wasn't able to drive it and the additional mileage was it being driven for it's MOT and service by a partner or family member. The price of £4.7k seems a bit high due to it's age, I would have thought £3.9k ( giving £1k profit ) would guarantee a sale but hope you get the full asking price.

My wife bought nearly the exact car but 05 82,000 for £800 had 8 months MOT. Got it home Full detail, New wheeltrims, Battery & 2 tyres got it booked in for its MOT & the Guy who sold it has asked to buy it back £900 so including the mot I will have spent £160 Driven it everyday. So its cost £60 !!! Ps This is in Northern Ireland where Cars are still Big Money CHEERS MATT

Result for once though I think the owner must have had a relative at the MOT station. Can not fault the said owner, giving an annual service at the main dealer no less. Kia dealers are extremely helpful too. I brought my daughter a Rio from a small independent that had no history. That dealer brought it from a deceased estate. A quick call to the Kia garage local to the log books old address confirmed FSH. And for the cost of a new service book they stamped and posted to us. Really don’t understand why the independent dealer hadn’t done this as he was only a few miles from the Kia garage where it had been maintained. Hope Matt has a new fully stamped Kia service book for his Picanto.

I love these low mileage basic cars! It's a good job I don't have both a lot of spare cash and a big barn, otherwise it'd be full of low spec low mileage forgettable cars! I bet the aerial will have been removed because it was snagging on the carport... I'm sure it wouldn't have affected the wireless reception too much 🤣

Under budget and no need to buff the headlights, now there's a rarity! I wonder if this car was used as a tow car behind a huge mobile home and therefore only used a couple of times a year when they went on holiday. That might explain the low mileage and also if they could afford to spend many thousands on their holiday vehicle then they could probably afford to get their little car serviced annually even though it didn't need it. Just an idea.
