Someone saw I wanted to dj and gave me everything I got to keep all the money I saved. This or the CMD micro Behringer controller or the numark party mix 1 was what I was going to get for my 1st controller so yes I would but one but fortunately I got some even better but in the future when I'm a better dj totally for now just sticking to my one controller

I actually bypassed not having a browse knob by using the midi remapping system in Serato. Mapped out the sampler cause i never use them. So i made scroll up/down forward/back on the pads and made the sync buttons into load buttons.

that was my first controller too and it was ok together with traktor instead of vdj. But the new hercules instinct are crap and the jogwheels are maded with 3 buttons that are ged pressed if you press the jogwheel down and swing it(or just tipping instead of swinging). I think the best was the hercules mp3 e1, because the metall gear and because it has mic and headphone in/out but that one i never have owned by myself. I think about buy one to mixing outside with a rasperry pi and mixxxx(mixxx on pi 4 is nice, but the hercules instinct are to much crappy.

@@roaming_phantom_le6th210 i think it dont realy care if you choose traktor, serato or rekordbox. Maybe vdj is enough with soundcard and if you dont want to use any effects or samples from vdj itself.But without soundcard like with the mp3 e2 i have the problem in the history that i have really bad quality. Maybe vdj have fixed it with the time now, but idk at the moment i only use Traktor and love it. But with serato or Rekordbox i have no experience :c but it should be very good. And Mixxx is maybe a try woth too (its free/open source and avaible on windows and linux(i use it only on linux, but i think on mac should it work to). That one have suprised me, because it works very nice to with a god quali and very very very very nice custimination(i use it outside with a rasperry pi and connect with my handy to it to see the mixxx gui on my handy and it was not really hard to make changes in the gui or in other words you can make custom themes, scripts, mappings and other thinks that i never have saw before in a software to mixing

Hercules is a very high quality brand, I have a Hercules Inpulse 200 here, it is very good, very similar to the DDJ 200, but it seems a little better

As a xone 92 and turntable dj I think cheapest dj controllers should put aside the pads and all that "cheap controller" features in order to make room for a decent eq and volume faders so begginer djs can actually dj, dont you think?

It's more for the portability. For something with more functionality and bigger, i'd go for a DDJ-400 or one of the larger Hercules ones.

If you plan on primarily making music, go for a USB Midi keyboard/controller combo. There's a lot of variety here, the most popular are Akai mpk mini mk.2 (And mk.3 has been released not long ago) and Arturia Minilab. They both have knobs and pads that can serve as CC for DAW and instrument control so I think it's the best starting point

I just receive the controller and I can’t use the starlight with iOS (tested on iPad and iPhone) without providing an external power source, it seems that the controller constantly reboot lights flash turn off an back on again, is this normal? I am using iPhone 11 + official Apple camera kit 3 connector. Please help. Do the standard lightning to USB (non camera kit 3) work with the controller?
