It's not a mansion, this is very normal sized in America.

@@krishnabc6917 Not kidding, generic average house size in America is 2500sqft. Plus new houses by anyone who is above average can still go up to 4000sqft and still be only like $400k. This house is likely much more expensive and much smaller than many american houses. My own house is larger than the one on screen and we are not rich.

This is the best house I've ever seen in Japan! Or the one I've liked most.... It's perfect to live, have a pet, rise a family, have your own veggys... It has everything! How exciting!!! So excited for you both. You can FINALLY do improvements and decorations without fear of damaging walls! BTW, gray is a great interior color… I have my large family room and kitchen painted a shade of gray… I have a lot of colorful art and it really pops off the walls! EDIT… I cannot believe it is not a brand new home!!! It is sooooooooo clean!

It’s so interesting to see inside houses in other countries 🥰 I can’t believe how much storage it has! Outside of the kitchen, my flat has ONE cupboard haha 😂 also, what is the floor hole in the kitchen used for?

Floor storage. I think most people just toss large drink bottles in there. Like when you buy a 6 pack of 2L bottles. Japanese fridges are small, so you put one bottle in the fridge and the rest in the floor storage. I wish I had something like this, but I'm in a Japanese apt. No floor storage.

Those types of cabinet fronts, you can change the colors using vinyl wrap material or contact paper so if you ever sell in the future you just peel it off and it still looks brand new.

Congrats on the house! It's amazing. I love that the past owner had a lot of modern sensibilities. The design is really nice and some of the older wall papers and colors can be renovated fairly easily. That rooftop is an excellent little relaxing hideaway too! Really nice!

In Japan it is fairly common for couples to sleep in separate room, one reason is that it improves the quality of sleep (sleeping with someone means dealing with one moving to much, snorring, taking to much place etc), also if they have different work schedule or just waking habit, they don't disturb the other one sleep when going to bed or waking up at different times
