I Bought A House in the Forest - But I Have Doubts

I haven't read any comments yet but this is what I think. If you want the house, buy it. You are not pushing them out and they know that. The reason for them having to sell has nothing to do with you. And, if I was in that situation of having to sell my house for that reason, I'd love for it to go to someone like you! There are plenty of people out there that will buy a house and never make it a home. The house will be happy with you.

Obviously, BUY IT. Help them out by paying a fair price, and possibly allow them to stay a month or two while they relocate. If you wish, you could also help them with relocation expenses, buy (overpay for) any excess furniture, maybe provide some savings bonds or gift cards for the kids, look for other, creative ways to ease their transition.

You already answered your question. Buy it... If... it's the house you can comfortably call home and it's perfect for you and your lifestyle. You're not the cause of their debt, you are helping them get out of debt and they can move forward to a new start. Now that you bought it, start putting into it the positive energy it needs and that you need. The home now needs love, good energy and your good soul. Enjoy the new moments.

Daniel, you are not forcing them out of their home. They are responsible for their situation. I know you feel bad for them but you can't fix their situation. Let your desires be your guide and just wish that family the best. We are all exactly where we are supposed to be. The best thing you can do to help them was to pay for their home and help them resolve their debts.

The bottom line is, the family in that home will lose the home regardless if you buy it or someone else buys it. You did not put the family in this position, it was done by themselves, and is not your fault. If you love the house, buy it. If it helps them get out of debt, then you have done a good thing, not a bad thing. Try not to make this your problem, but rather you are the solution. The family may be able to afford a smaller place to live, as well as pay off the debt. So really, you are helping, not hurting them by purchasing the house. I hope the best for you in your home, and try not to dwell on the family, but rather your future with your place. ❤❤

I hope you see this and really hear what I say. You are not doing anything to them, they did to them. You never know what positive will come out of this. I was laid off from a job 6 years ago and i was devastated, I thought I would never be happy again and how dare they screw up my life. That layoff what the best thing that has ever happened in my life. It pushed me to be better and see what else is out there. Now, I have the best job I have ever had while also being the most financially secure in my life, and I owe it to being laid off.

I don't feel like you are the bad guy if you decide to buy the house. In a way smaller case, I had to sell something at quite a low price because I needed the money and I never ever felt any ounce of guilt toward the person. I'm editing this comment because, like someone said, at least, the family know that the house will be loved and taken care of. You won't destroy it, destroy the garden and all. Your kindness and respect is probably helping them more than you realise. I find you caring so much for them really touching

Dear Daniel, I am a 66 yr old woman, who in my late 20's was in the position of losing my home. This was happening due to my marriage breakup. The bank treatened to take back our home and leave myself and my 2 small children homeless. I met with the financial manager and explainef to him that I would sell the house and pay back the full mortgage. They agreed to wait. I was able to pay them back and buy a cheaper home in a differant county. I know I was blessed by having a caring and understanding bank manager. I now live in a beautiful bungalow with an acre garden, surrounded by trees. No one can answer this question for you. It has to sit well with your conscience. Yeah, not being mean here, we all have life issues, but understand that it's not the bank's fault that you chose divorce and its consequences, even though that may have been your RIGHT choice. But the bank uses the rest of our deposits to lend to you. If you don't repay, that gets revisited on all of us. So the bank isn't the bad guy, and this isn't a moral issue. Your choice leads to forfeiting a home and you(and your kids) having to move. Just need to accept that fact and be prepared to deal with it. It should not be made someone else's burden to deal with.

I understand how that would make you feel as your are a very empathic soul..If the house will have to sell anyway, I'm sure they would rather it went to someone like yourself who cares about their predicament and will take good care of it rather than in a potentially worse situation.. but you need to feel comfortable with your decision and don't want to live in it feeling guilty.. ask the Universe for guidance for an outcome which benefits all concerned.. It is certainly not a good time for them, but on the other hand it gives them the chance to start anew, hopefully without debts. What I think is important for you when you move in, is to clean the place energetically (for example with white sage) and/or have a ritual that affirms the ongoing change for the house and the former and future inhabitants. Their sense of relief to see the debt gone and to start a new life must fill them with hope. Now that they will no longer be in debt, there will be a sense of relief and the possibility of a fresh and new beginning without the weight of that debt on them. If you really see yourself living in that house and it speaks to your heart, then I think you are being honest to your wish and at the same time, helping this family in a really challenging situation. It's never a "good thing" to lose your home like this, but considering the financial situation that they are in, it will help them clear part of their debt which is a priority I think. There's no perfect scenario in this situation I feel. But you have to follow your heart and do what's right for you.

I understand your concerns but please allow yourself the joy of beginning a new chapter in your life. It's sad that the previous owners are in a bad situation but you are potentially helping them get out of debt so they can get a new start from a better position. Removing the gray cloud of debt over their heads could be a blessing. This will be such an exciting time for you and also a lot of work. But this will be work that will be for your benefit and you will be so happy to have your own property. Dear Daniel , I've been there twice and exactly !!!! With your same guilt . Buy the house only if you really want to be in that area . But dont feel guilty about it because the gov't. will get rid of those poor people no matter who buys the house . When I did that , I baked a loaf of homemade bread for them with a loving note and put it in their mailbox . I said a prayer for them to find a home to be safe in. ** Now I know you've bought it , yay !❤️🥰 Another thing is now that you own a home , you can always sell it if you want to go farther north later on so it's like having a bank account , anything you put into it comes back to you later . You can't lose !! ❤️
