7:38 brake is normal cylinder brake. Get a mpfi brake booster kit added to this. I had done it for my 96 800, it was very effective.

Oh hell yes. Go crazy with it. Whenever I drove an 800, never felt it lacking in power, in fact revving the engine and the sound coming through the minimal insulation was quite fun. It’s the braking that honestly scared the shit out of me, especially when you are used to a hydraulic assist braking system.

My first car was a 2007 800 MPFI model with immobilizer. I loved that car, but we had to sell it as part of an exchange when we bought a Tiago Petrol. I was so much attached to that car that I cried the entire journey from my home till the Kottayam MK Motors showroom where it was being exchanged. I also didn't get a chance to drive the car for its last journey with me, I followed in a bike. Unfortunately I was not working that time as I still was a student and I had begged not to sell it off, but we did it anyways. We later bought another 800 (2006 model), but I still miss my old car. If I ever get a chance to buy it back, I sure will... Hoping for the same one day soon... It was my project car. I used to spend money that I got from scholarships to do upgrades and accessories...

I had a 94 standard model myself- KL06 6323. I bought it in 97 and had it with me till 2006. I used it for FMSCI autocross and tarmac race events and quite successfully.. beating larger cars like the Esteem and Gypsies to reach even 2nd place. Driving it reminds one of a go kart, its very nimble and planted on the road. I now have an XL6 and a 2002 Omni which I'm restoring to mint step by step.

The best 800 which maruti has released till date is the 2002 - 5 speed model. I had one for 23 years and sold recently for 65K Do not have space to park . Otherwise would have never sold it. Still was fun to drive car.

I recently bought a 1995 model 800 AC for 30,000 rupees. The person whom I bought it frm said tht all papers where clear up 2027. Which was a lie. Now I own rust on wheel which has almost all papers expiring this year expect fitness.

In '97 till around '02 my father had this same car but in dark green colour. We used to have road trips from kottayam to trivandrum (where he worked) during summer vacation in this car, which stays as a core memory. Personally a restoration to it's original glory is what I would initially prefer. But seeing so many different options for customization I think that's the way to go.

Vivkeji i have a suggestion., while i was restoring my 800 .. i jus change my seats like the old classic cars ..fabric seats.. with better cushions.. i think you can consider it . And i prefer mono colour with some stiching patternes [ my preference is lines] colours are on your preferences.. i i suggest to keep the car as stock as possible.

In my home we had this model. I used to listern music and act like driving in that car in my childhood. One day after playing I accidentally put key inside the car and locked it (no spare key).
