In April 30, I bought a 2023 F3S from Mountain Motorsports Buford. Ive been riding Spyders since 2013 - Rt, Sts. First F3S. The only issue I have with it is the wind knocks me off the bike. So Im looking for a windscreen. Mine does have floorboards as I have a disability and pegs just dont work for me. Congrats on the bike! I went with the Manga Green! And heres info for all of you. IF YOU BUY A F3S (special edition) it comes with a cowl AND seat. You can interchange them if you want. Im a single rider so I put the cowl on. Looks fabulous and old school bobber like!

I love my Spyder. As I told you before, I am still riding my 2015 RTS with over 50K miles (with my Wife riding along sometimes). The engine is solid and holds up to time. If you keep up the maintenance, it will last for years. My Spyder mechanic even told me that normally "bikes" last about 50k miles and I will get maybe 30k more miles out of it before I have to let it go. I love the new style of the 2020+ bike but it is all about the ride and feel to me. I have my accessories on the bike (lighting, dvr, iPads, and others). I ride everyday of the year hot and cold (down to 0 degrees) but no rain (unless I am caught in it), no snow or no sleet riding for me in Memphis TN. I commute as much as I can to work 30 miles one-way... save a lot of gas (RAM drinks a lot of gas). Congrats on joining the Spyder club.

I drove home the same model from Mountain Motorsports Marietta back in June! Everywhere I go I get compliments and questions! I have been on the Interstates multiple times and yes it moves. My first time on I75 I felt like it had too much power as I got happy cranking up the throttle. Although the power is one reason why I chose this over the Ryker. I have added multiple modifications (led headlights, saddlebags, signature light, and garage door opener). Can Am really hit it with the color scheme on this one especially with the blue frame. The upgraded digital instrument panel is also off the chain. The only issues I have is I do not care for the seat and I wish the mirrors had a wider view, two things of which I will be modifying.

3WK, my fellow chocolate IT guy, like you, I've had a long appreciation for the Spyder in F3 guise. If one loves craftsmanship of metal, the exposed tubular frame of the F3 is wonderful. Can Am most likely doesn't put the effort into making the frame of the Ryker attractive, so it's clad in plastic everywhere. The Spyder is a more handsome bike compared to the Ryker. The Ryker does have its draws though. Fully automatic shifting. I believe the F3 still forces you to shift up manually, but downshifts are automatic. Ryker has a no maintenance drive shaft, whereas the Spyder final drive belt will need attention down the road. The Ryker also has easier adjust-ability of pegs and bars. What about you 3WK? It's obvious what the upgrades are that come with the Spyder, but are there any features unique to the Ryker that you will miss or wish will migrate to the Spyder at some point? One thing I'd like to see the Spyder incorporate is Honda's DCT (Dual Clutch Transmission). The DCT allows the rider to have full automatic shifting both up and down, as well as manual shifting when the rider chooses. Congrats and enjoy your new ride!
@3WK-ADV2 жыл бұрын
Hey man, thank you! It just feels solid, stout, premium and it has the power to match it. And handsome is the right word, very agressive but refined look. To your points: The Ryker has a CVT transmission. Which works well but I'll be honest, the semi-automatic transmission is much more engaging for me. I really like the ability to have that control over the motorcycle. The sound it produces is also much more pleasant as you move through the gears and the RPMs vary. A DCT would be a nice option though. Also while the Ryker is shaft driven, it has a CVT, which means that it also has a belt that will need attention down the road. Adjustability is definitely better on the Ryker, although the adjustability/overall design of the handlebars made me a little less confident in the build quality than the more traditional approach of the Spyder. However, I'd love to see the Spyder adopt the more adjustable foot peg system. The brake linkage system is kinda clunky. Thanks again!
@MrBTRDAYZ2 жыл бұрын
@@3WK-ADV Your channel could very well be the catalyst that gets Can Am to either develop on their own, or purchase from Honda, DCTs for the Spyder and Ryker. In fact, a future video might focus on a 3 way comparison with a Ryker, the Spyder F3 and one of Honda's DCT bikes... maybe a Gold Wing or the NC750. Show the pros/cons of each transmission under different scenarios... standing start hard acceleration, on-ramp/highway passing, engine noise, downshifting and engine braking, responsiveness in both manual and auto modes. Having operated all 3 in automobiles, I am definitely of the mindset that the DCT is the best of both worlds!

Hey Khalil, congrats on your upgrade to the F3! I know you're loving it - I finally got mine back in June, and have been loving it ever since! Like you I have the 2022 F3-S Special Series - Manta Green. There are actually two Special Series for '22 - manta green AND black with blue frame like yours. It has been super confusing since they announced the '22s - manta green was always the special color for the year, but they added the black/blue, then they removed it and made that the traditional F3-S, THEN they took away the F3-S and made the black/blue an additional special series! Baffling, even the dealers couldn't keep up and understand - but Manta Green is this year's (2022) model, not last year. I'm not surprised you're liking this over the Ryker - the Ryker has its place and is fun, but this right here is just as fun, more comfortable, AND has many more features! I've had some great rides already, but wish I could still get out even more...that's how it makes you feel!

I enjoy your vids and passion for the Spyder. I had a white one and sold it and now I'm back in the market. I saw this color in person and my opinion was the matte black looked so cheap, like plastic garbage. I asked a dealer if they could at least swap out the frunk cover for a metallic/painted black cover and they said they could so I might do that. My question is do you still like the matte black plastic? I think it's so cheap of Can-Am to offer these matte colors (saves them money) and still not offer the LED headlights which I added on my previous Spyder and will add again on the new one I pick up. The photos of the bright green (2022/2023) do not at all represent what the bike looks like in person, it's way more yellow than green (another mistake by Can-Am) but at least it's painted/wrapped, whatever they do to it) but I'm wondering if I'll get more tired of that bright yellow or more tired of constantly cleaning a black bike. Thoughts? Yes I've got a quote on wrapping the Spyder and the lowest quote I found was $1,500 so that's an option too, especially on a used one.

Lars if you don't plan to carry a passenger and don't care for a cruise control, the base model will probably be all you need. Particularly if you already intend to go with after market suspension. @@larsp.8558 I think in that case you might consider the F3S or F3T. Good luck.

Hey Khalil love the ride, so I'm looking into getting a F3, can I ask why did you choose the F3-S over the regular F3. Are the extras worth the money and what's different between both
@3WK-ADV2 жыл бұрын
I think the few extras are worth it. The digital dash is just nice and modern. Love the amount of information that you can display on there. Detailed trip info, detailed gas mileage stat, music, maps, etc. The KYB shocks are an upgrade. I can’t really compare one to one, but I can say it does ride really smoothly and handle bumps well. Gauge spoiler also looks very good, all I will ever need as I’m not really a windshield guy. I think the cost increase is justified based on those items being included. HP is the same though.

F3S comes with a back seat, while the regular F3 does not.
@la_old_salt22412 жыл бұрын
The F3S also comes standard with cruise control, which the base model doesn't have. However, after you get the base model home, you can schedule it with the shop to have the cruise installed, if that's something you want. Overall, I think it better to just go with the F3S or F3T as you get all the upgrades for less as part of the package, than you'd have to pay doing a piecemeal upgrade. Besides the cost of the parts you'll add the labor rate for the techs to install everything that you choose not to install yourself. Just a though. God bless, Rob

Bruh when you rode that F3T I was Thinking there's no way he's Going to to keep ryker over A year 🤣😂 but congrats 🤴🏾 On the spyder Keep doing your Thang✌🏼

Haha thanks man! The Ryker was great, but the Spyder is just the logical next step if you want a little more.

How would you rate the power/acceleration versus a Ryker 900? I know this is a larger engine, but also a larger, heavier bike. Just wondering if the butt dyno tells you this pulls harder than a Ryker.
@3WK-ADV2 жыл бұрын
MUCH harder. More torque, more power, and I felt it instantly. I let out a "WOOOOO!!!!" within my first 3 minutes driving it home from the dealership.
