I bought a ‘90 F350 CC 4x4 nearly 20 years ago, and still have it. There were all kinds of annoying things to fix like this one, but it turned out really nice.

A couple years ago I picked up a 1995 7.3L PowerStroke in a F250 extended cab. I wouldn't have bought it if it had the gas engine, the electrical is shot and the body is falling apart man. You got a nice truck! Keep it clean brother.

I brought my brother-in-law's 92 Centurion for 1,000 with a blown up IDI and 5 speed put a flatbed on it 12 valve Cummins swapped it and put a 6-speed nv5600 out of a 05 Dodge in it hydroboost swapped and put a 373 disc rear end from a 02 F-350 in it, it's badass now all together had 5500 in building it after selling the parts that I didn't need in it

The transmission issues with random problems shifting is likely due to the PCM capacitors being too old and having leaked out their fluid. You'll see a lot of people chasing engine or transmission problems on these trucks they just cant fix and most the time they just need new capacitors soldered into the PCM. Be worth checking out. Otherwise very cool truck!
@GasGuzlerКүн бұрын
@@gbar6445 I thought that was a possibility, however I believe the torque converter is actually slipping. In overdrive while it’s locked up, if I manually unlock it by triggering the brake lights, engine RPM hardly changes so it’s definitely slipping and not completely locking up.

if you're having problems linking the CRT to the VCR, try these: -channel 3 or 4 -possibly a video channel but more than likely a coax connection -check connectors on the back and see it hasnt been unplugged (duh, but you never know)

Also if you are having light issues and transmission shifting issues. It may be a 15 amp fuse. Mine went out and my odometer went away and then the tranny shifted like dog shit as a result. I also had to have that security system taken off because the motor would die if I hit a bump or slammed the door.

I had the opportunity to sit in one crew cab F150. I think it was a 1995... 4x4 351 for sure. I know of a k1500 crew cab conversion. Not sure if it is centurion or other.
@GasGuzler3 күн бұрын
@@wyattgardner3552 Centurion is more commonly know for Fords, but they did similar conversions to GM trucks and I believe even some Dodge trucks as well. Most of the multi-manufacturer conversions were through the mid 90s, but they specialized in Fords from the 80s all the way into the early 2000s.

@@GasGuzler also, your trans fluid could be making its way past the seal and into transfer case. I've saw two trucks get parked from "bad transmission" and it was way simpler.

Also, your transmission issue, check the seal between transmission and transfer case. It will slip, but no fluid leaking out. I have seen 2 trucks get parked for "bad transmission" and it was much simpler.

I’ve always loved how long ford built those trucks. And maybe they’re no longer than today’s crew cab long beds, however something about them just looks longer; almost like a limo truck.
@Jacksongamma3 күн бұрын
did you check to see if the rear wheel arches are rotted out under the flares? Praying its not. Nice truck
@GasGuzler3 күн бұрын
@@Jacksongamma Unfortunately I believe that’s the case, the front fenders seem to be the same so it will most likely need some new body panels. Might wind up going with a complete new bed, it does have a couple holes rusted through on the inside.

you paid $6k thats crazy with all the work it needs + the work you already did. the most I would have offard the guy you bought it from would have been $1,500 with it needing motor and trans work.

Pretty much paying for the body of the truck itself. It’s a classic vehicle. If it was diesel I’m sure he would have payed more but I completely understand why you think 6k is crazy.
