I’m not saying this is true because I haven’t experienced it myself. However I’ve heard many times that the valve cover and head are machined together and it is recommended that the head and cover should be replaced together. Also on the new cam shaft gear, tack weld the back of the decomp pivot pins.

You might be on to something about the valve cover cause on the website they are sold together. I never thought of that but never seen anything about that…. And thank you for the tip on pivot pins👍

I used an old Grizzly 660 Clymer manual I bought off Motosport a while back actually.. same engine so since I was just working on the engine I knew it would be all good
