Don't underestimate a Squier bass... Definitely worth the cash... A lot of bang for your bucks...

This bass has been awesome. Thanks for review.

. I have that exact same bass (£207 from GAK back in 2021). Cheap as chips all-rounder for dragging to rehearsals and the occasional dodgy gig & not worrying about it getting damaged or nicked. That being said, it'll require several adjustments the fist year, but solid once it settles in.

Squire basses have always been great vfm. The budget end of the market is very competitive which has forced all manufacturers to up their game.

I've literally just bought one of these, except in Lake Placid blue and with a Pau Ferro fretboard. I'd been looking for a PJ bass that wasn't expensive and when I saw it in the shop I could see right away that it was a well made bit of kit. Playing it confirmed that, and I loved the satin smooth neck straight away, plus the weight is just right for me. I'll probably swap the strings for a set of good flat wounds, and maybe in future treat it to some better pickups, but out of the box it's fantastic value for money.

I like the look of the LPD one, very nice. I was well impressed with this one - first of the Squier Affinity series that I've tried. Crazy cheap for a good bass.

Sounds pretty good! Tempted myself now. The Bass did look a bit oven-ready as you were taking it out of the box.

I had pre-heated the oven to 200 degrees (Gas Mark 4), just in case! I was genuinely impressed with this instrument for the price.

I bought a Lefty Squier Classic Vibe Telecaster a few years back..... everything went off on it... the bridge, the pickups and control cover. I replaced the pickups with some Texas Specials, and got a new Wilkinson Bridge and some new electronics and cover. Sounds great now. I still don't like the neck at all though.... oh well....
@DunsysGuitarWorld5 ай бұрын
That's the same as my old 80's Squier tele - other than the wood (and the tuners, I think), everything has been replaced at one point.

Good one, Dunsy! I had one a few years ago and I still miss it. At that price, I might get one again (been rocking a Stirling Sting Ray and loving it). My favorite sound was dialing in 80-85% P pickup and 15-20% bridge pickup. Lots of thump and just enough bite. Hope he digs it! Good call!

Sounds good! I'm a guitar player myself and have been looking for an affordable good sounding 4-string bass. Do you have the Amazon link where you got this SQUIER AFFINITY SERIES PRECISION Bass with the Maple fretboard & neck? Also, what bass amp were you playing through?

Cheers buddy. I was just plugged into a bass profile on my Kemper. No real amp as such. Amazon link is here: amzn.eu/d/eaFf2na

Fender make their own Badass style “hi mass” bridge that costs about £30ish that would be a great upgrade! Good score that!

I had a squire affinity telecaster with maple fingerboard. Pickups were terrible but after replacing all the electronics in it, I wore the frets on that thing out. Loved the neck on it. Gave it to my brother who got the frets replaced and he's been gigging it for two years. Some of them are very very good. Some not so good. Mine was made 2014/15.

When I saw you were reviewing a bass I thought I’d give this video a miss, Dunsy - it seemed a bit fishy but I was lured in. Turned out they’re the right sort of scales! Cool Precision - looks and sounds great! 👍

I was well impressed with it - I had to squint my eyes a wee bit to get the low F, but that's cause of age and usually playing a shorter scale. But if anyone needed me to hold down their low end on stage, then I'd be good to go with this. As it were.
