Much great stuff here! Most, if not all of the paper has value, especially the old Sams' Photofact manuals, the old Hawkins' electrical books and of course, the Chilton's manuals. The manuals, especially the automotive books don't have to be in great shape...just usable. The Brownie 620 camera is also quite collectible. Old country vinyl is currently hot, especially originals by since deceased artists. The "loose vinyl" Records are 78 RPM singles, and made of shellac based material, and very fragile. Really sought after by collectors. Handle carefully. Ivory soap boxes are REALLY old, probably early 20th century. They probably have cleats on the bottom, spaced so the boxes will interlock somewhat when stacked.

Lots of people do canning nowadays so the mason jars will be popular although I do not know the value. Also, gardeners may enjoy the seeds which may or may not still sprout.

Matt, if you're going to be doing storage units regularly, I'd suggest getting a trailer hitch for your SUV and renting U-Haul trailers as needed. The price of two daily van rentals will pay for the hitch/accessories, and from then on you can just rent an enclosed U-Haul trailer for $15-20 for the day. Can do everything in one haul, no need to mess up the interior of your SUV, etc. Just a thought.

For this unit, I wish I would have. This was a huge step up in terms of quantity compared to what I normally go for. One of my goals for 2019 is to get a better work vehicle. @@matresells4655 Those Dodge vans are my go-to U-Haul rental if I need a van. I don't do enough volume to justify it, but my dream vehicle would be Wade Venture's box truck with the roll-up doors on the sides instead of the back. Pull the truck up alongside the door of the unit and just slide the boxes on in, rough sorting good/garbage/donation front/middle/back as you load. Stop at the dump/Goodwill on the way home and never even have to bring any of the unwanted stuff home. For now the rental trailers will do - let U-Haul own it, maintain it, store it, and I just borrow it as needed. :)

For all of the books......check the UPCs (or look them up) on Amazon and if they are worth money list them and send them in to their Distribution Centre. They then would do all of the work for you in shipping. Amazon started out as a platform for book selling so they have descriptions for a lot of books already in their system. At 13:30 the Ball Mason jars look like 500mL jars (2 cups). They can go for $0.50-$0.60 each.

Hey I discovered your channel just now, awesome video. I really like it you took it slow and showed most of if not all items in the boxes. There are other YT'ers who speed things up, I dont hate it, its their choice, but I do enjoy seeing what they got, and sometimes they dont show everything or they do it insanely fast, under a second of showing item to camera, then moving it off screen. Defently going to check out your channel. Also, love the sausage, LOL. The Smothers Brothers sounds.. Dicey! Andy williams' song "Happy Heart" is pretty populaire, like a cult classic, after it was in some movies. Don't know if the song is on the vinyl though.

Would have gotten more but the edge of the book was sun damaged. I also found one Silver Certificates inside books that I bought for fifty cents each. You just never know! @@matresells4655 jars you probably want to sell locally, due to problems with shipping. The lids, rings, and even some of that kitchen stuff will do okay. In fact my lady just bought a canning lot just to get one item of the lot. All canners need lids and rings, but it's not canning season right now. They'll do best in the late summer and early fall. Just sell em for less than the total would be if you went to a store to get them, and they will sell. Those boxes of jars for full boxes are about 12 dollars at the store, but they come with one set of lids and rings. Look through that kitchen stuff if you find a deal that is rubber coated on one end, and has wooden or plastic handles on the other, and is king of bent on the rubber end, and works like a set of tongs, that's a tool for removing jars from the hot water. They do all right in a lot as well. I both buy and sell lots, my lady buys them for kitchen stuff all the time. I buy em for one or two items usually then maybe add in some other items and resale the lots. I try to always have one nicer item right in the center of the main photo to get interest up. You'd be surprised what some odd lots will bring.

For your Cds, dvds, video games, books, etc, there is an app called Decluttr, spelled like that. You download it and scan the barcodes for that stuff and it'll tell you if they're buying it or not. When you're done and ready you can either print the shipping label or have it mailed to your address. You package up the items they pay to have it shipped. I always hold onto everything and scan for decluttr. Anything left I sell in my yard sale for cheap then whatever doesn't sell I donate to a local thrift store or throw it in the trash. I urge you to keep the cds, DVDs, books, etc until you have a pile of them then just scan all the bar codes to see if they're buying them. Might not be much but worth a try.

Well, the plan was to box up the personal stuff in to a couple bigger boxes and leave them at the storage facility, but they said they don't keep people personal affects and that they would just throw it in their dumpsters. So currently, its all just sitting in my garage.

Don't under estimate old catalogues (or sales brochures) - they will usually sell quite well on Ebay. I spent 20 years selling old ephemera on Ebay, it can be a good area to specialise in (and it is usually much easier to pack and send than other stuff).

Don't throw away the old books! I would like the Sears Catalogue at 20: 30. Christmas ornaments that are old are valuable. A lot of people are looking for books especially a large group of people that are crafters and junk journals. Readers Digest are in that category and old catalogs. keep an eye on the value of music compilations that have numerous artists. when record companies make these things, they go through an extended list of artists getting permissions. if some performers decline, no biggie, they just work farther down the list until they fill the record. however, when it comes time to get a 2nd release(if the compilation's sales justify it), it's nearly impossible to get every single one of these exact same artists to renew approvals. so, no matter how popular they are, these compilations never get reprinted, keeping 2nd & 3rd printings from dragging down the value of the 1st printing. same for tapes & cd's. does not apply to short story collections in books, though, as publishers tend to simply purchase stories & novels outright.

We've bought a handful of units through storagetreasures. A few years ago the deals were awesome, at least here in MI. More people found the site and started going crazy with their bids, so most end up way overpriced. Our first buy was the best. Your unit reminded me of it, except ours was stacked with tubs instead of boxes. Paid $90 and figured the 20 storage tubs had that much value even if they were empty. The best find...One tub was filled with Pokemon cards, all in trapper keepers. Did a lot of learning about Pokemon and sold over $2k worth of cards. Time consuming listing them, but well worth it. Your unit looks like it has some nice collectables. Sadly as a huge music fan it hurts to say most vinyl doesn't have a ton of value(maybe $3-5 avg.). I wish I knew why it's so low, because lp's are as rare as anything else from back in the day.

People can bid in the comfort of their home and not have to brave the weather to do live auctions. You definitely pay a premium for that. As for the unit itself, just like yours, I gambled on the fact that there were so many boxes. There had to some thing in there! I have made a nice amount of money on this unit so far and still have a bunch of boxes left to go through. Most of the boxes were old books, which I have some sold for decent profit and donated a bunch more. It wasn't super exciting because it was mostly books, but still profitable!

Look up the old country CCs. Some of them will be worth money and they will go toward costs on the unit. It looks like this unit has a bit of country stuff check it out before you just toss also see if there is donation items that can come off your taxes.**Downy box contains canning and jelly jars that are newer. The other jars are good as drinking glasses for BBQ's etc.** Old books sell for artists ephemera crafts. Old how to build and craft items may be worth the time to check them out.**Pretty much anything Popular Science is popular**Just donate Readers Digest books. Mostly worthless.** Be safe be well.

Depending on condition that Kitchen Aid Stand Mixer could be worth anywhere from $20 to$200. Cameras, Chilton Manuals, Sears catalog all have value for sure. Radio Manuals, old phone books, all sellable on eBay. Reach out to Dusty on the Alabama Pickers channel ...that's all his type of inventory. His brain will be worth picking. Old mason jars, old "Paper" all that stuff Dusty has great knowledge.Remember when doing storage units like this you'll have lots of stuff that will sell for small amounts 5, 7, 10 ,15 dollars but it all adds up and when you cost average it all out you have maybe a quarter in each item. Thank you Piper for pointing out all those channels! I think the only one I had heard of was Wades. I like watching his storage unit videos. Since I filmed this, we have started checking the some of the books and have found one that sells for $70 and one that sells for $50. But like you said, a lot of $5-$15 dollar books which definitely add up quick considering how many we have. I appreciate you watching the video and taking the time to help me out!

Step one. Create an amazon seller account...the free one. Step 2. Download the Amazon seller app, and scan all those books. I would send in anything that has value and ranked 1 million or less...

Those records are 33 1/3 better known as LP's or albums, 78's were smaller and spun discs were commonly made from shellac (The usually only have one song on each side ..You'll know they are made different when you pick them up) .It wasn't until the 1950 they spun them on polyvinyl chloride, Few 78's are spun and pressed on the polyvinyl chloride, 45's took their place quickly, now they are spun and pressed on what is know as simple vinyl..Old 78's are rigid , heavier, then vinyl ,can crack and break ...The original Vinyl is thicker then the newer vinyl now a days which is more light weight and more pliable . LP's are pressed onto vinyl from a master disc ...Yes, they still make them and most record stereos still have the three settings 78, 33 1/3 and 45 .. There is nothing like the sound of Vinyl ....And 78's were recorded in hi fi or high fidelity, they don't have the same sound as stereo that followed ...Depending on the artist and the condition of the records it can bring good money...Having scratches and warping kill it's value regardless of the artist. Having the sleeve or cover helps with the value as well as the condition of the cover.. The sleeveless records themselves should never be stored on top of each other without a sleeve or something between them...Always pick them up by the edges to prevent scratching.. And while I'm here those Mason jars are used for preserves/canning and pickling...The Knorr's box are the lids for them.

On the loose vinyl.... I would check the labels rather then who the artist is (unless you run across Elvis) I did notice one RCA Victor label with Nipper. The Johnny Cash Folsom prison LP & the Smothers Brothers stand out to me in what I saw.
