We used to have a Citroen C1 as our only car and it would confuse people so much as they couldn't work out whether we had money or just didn't want a fancy modern car. Most people round us have huge Volvos, Audi's, BMWs or cheaper SUVs. Our little C1 was bought for £1 off my Dad and sold back to him for £2. It served us well and did 70-80 mpg even with a lead foot

Opel, Vauxhall and Holden are General Motors (GM) companies, I am not sure of stock ownership now, but recently they were. So this same car is badged as Vauxhall in the UK, Holden in Australia/NZ and Chevrolet in the Americas. GM is a very vast and diversified company, in the US anything that turns around will have some part made by GM.🦚

I have the same Corsa B (5D) in white color ('96). Had it for 2 years now. So far I've bought and done: Thermostat, water pump, timing belt and the auxliary parts, top end gaskets and valve rubbers, plugs, distributor cap and rotor, charger belt, air and fresh air filters, new battery, fluids, rear brake shoes and springs, rear wheel bearing right side, front tied rod end left side, brand new summer and winter tyres, new blinker switch, new blinker relay, new bulbs front and rear, new door speakers, new music player and... Maybe something else I'm forgetting right now. Atm on my to-do list as first priorities I have to fix the boot lock mechanism (which broke down a couple of weeks ago), replace dash lights and weld a small spot on the left side skirt (finger sized hole). All of these can wait for the spring though, since I have to work on my car outside at the mercy of the weather. Doing maintenance when it's -25c outside is not very fun :D After all's said and done I think the car is in a fine shape for a 28 year old car, it's got 215000km clocked (out of which I have done 15000). I drive it daily and have driven it daily regardless of season for the past 2 years now. It's very suitable for city driving and does well on country roads aswell. Not the most optimal thing for speedways but hey, I think that's a given with any of these tiny and lightweight small-engine cars :) -Your friendly Finnish neighbour

had a 2002 Astra for a little bit, with a 1.6 Ecotec 16valve engine. if you accidentally bump the temperature sensor for the coolant coming out of the block, it'll give you some really weird intermittent issues like either no idle or high idle, sputtering, general difficulty running, just bump the temperature sensor the other way or wiggle it around until it idles properly. That car was quite the experience, took me a week of intermittent issues to figure it out.

I could really smell it, it was BAD. and what was always super rusty was the rear upper spring rest. otherwise it was reliable somehow. and yeah, of course people say "replace this and that" and maybe it is worth a look. make it safe to drive since the Corsa B is quite flimsy in a crash, especially with some rust on it.
