I totally get why you sold the trailer. We sold ours and bought a class B van and never regretted it. So much easier to travel and cheaper on fuel. We are just vacationers, not living in ours year round. Great to see you back and life sounds pretty good for you!

While you're making great plans, life is sitting in the corner giggling, laughing at you and throwing challenges at you! A van is great, of course. You're more flexible. No coupling and uncoupling. Where can I stand? Where do I leave the trailer when I have to go into town? But standing height would be a must for me! I can't wait to see what you conjure up. And I'm glad that you have such great support from your sweetheart and no longer have to struggle with everything on your own. You are great!

I have a 2003 Ford E350 superduty and its the best vehicle I have ever owned! I love it!! I added the hi-top from Fiberine.. GAME CHANGER🙌🏼 wish I was living in it full time. Definitely my retirement home in a few years ❤.. can't wait to see your build!

I'm super stoked for you and excited to watch the build! I love the kind of van you got, too. They just look so punk and edgy to me. It's nice to be able try lots of things out, including the luxury trailer. But like you said, priorities change and now you can be so much more mobile, more quickly, without it being a big production. Plus, it looks huge! That kind of space will be just as luxurious as the trailer (maybe even more, who knows).

This is the "real" side of nomad life. There is merit in before you start out get the best vehicle you can afford, but once on the road as Brooke says "you roll". Focus on safety. Enjoy that you have. The expeience is priceless.

Having issues with your tow rig while on the road can be awful. Having a supportive capable partner does help a lot. I'm a bit sad about the trailer as we have a Sol Horizon and are just getting out there with it. Was nice to see your updates and mods you performed on it. Certainly, it is easier to stealth camp with a van and it seems to be a better fit for you. On our first trip the solar worked well with one minor issue. I will be fixing that this weekend. We are not full time so the Sol works great for us. I do agree that Overlanding with just the 4Runner was easier from a logistical standpoint. Just stopping for lunch can be a challenge. Most fast food restaurants don't have room or clearance for even a small 19' trailer and tow vehicle...Glad to hear from you again. Seeing the van build up should be interesting.

check engine lights flashing are SCARY!! and it means lots of money. just my 2 cents. Bless his heart your boyfriend for driving for how many hours he needed to come get both of you. Congratulations on the new Van. Yes the trailer was very comply But this Van is better for how you and Pippa live. I'm not trying to be rude! the Van will take you into the back country. where the trailer you don't want to take it .incase you get it scratched and there would of been your resale price. You can still get another trailer and pull with your Van if you choose. then you have both worlds. with the van you can make the bed lower for Pippa. where the trailer bed was high for her.

With all the rigs you've tried and lived with, I'm wondering, as a single woman looking at what type of affordable, part-time living rig may be best for me and my DOG -- so important that the dog is the focus of our needs and desires for comfort and safety! I'm very taken by the A-liner campers, but I've never towed anything before... I would be happy with a van, but I also don't expect to do much if any build, and I feel like an exhaust fan and insulatoin and some similar measures will be important for us... how did you feel about towing when you first tried it? Thanks much!
