I bought a wrecked Nissan GTR from a salvage auction & attempted to rebuild it in 24hours without leaving my workshop. But it wasnt as straight foward as i first thought. The R35 GTR arrived with the common transmission fault, if the transmission is faulty on it then id take a huge loss so now ive got to figure out a way to fix it in the 24 hours whilst keeping it under budget.

If a transmission fault is common problem on the GTR, doesn't that mean Mat may come across that problem at some point? To myself personally, that would be a lot of money wondering if it's going to happen on this car, but then again, buying any car you are going to maybe have problems at some point.

I’m not disagreeing with you but isn’t that the point? Obviously Skylines are raced competitively and subject to panel damage so a fast turnaround for things like doors, boot, bumpers etc would be a racing necessity. Obviously the race cars won’t have the steel panels but they are necessary on road cars for safety reasons. I think the point you validly made is due to racing homologation and would be expected. I am agreeing with you though.

The main reason why we need to connect the positive terminal first for the battery isn't because the direction of current flowing, it's because safety. When you connect the positive terminal first, the car's chassis (which is usually grounded to the negative terminal) is not yet connected to the battery. This reduces the risk of a short circuit if your wrench or another metal tool accidentally touches the car's body and the positive terminal simultaneously.

mat you might want to buy a Sheet Metal Hole Puncher 5mm (its like pliers) so you dont have to drill holles in panels anymore we use this in the bodyshop
