That is rosin for the bow. It helps it to adhere to the strings. In my past life, I was a violinist. The violin would have to be repaired at a special shop, probably in Pittsburgh or Philly. Bows can be more valuable than the violins. Such is the case for my violin and bow.

Hey Taco, I just screencapped a picture of that Jewish book and fired it off to a Jewish book council to identify it. I'll post it here when they write back. Everyone loved those pallets you bought at the Goodwill. From treasures to stuff that needs thrown away in the trash, makes for great fun.

Hi Taco. You did very well if those books are what people are saying they are. You have to get them checked out for sure. Very important to check all pockets and paper money can be found. From working at a goodwill store years ago I know that it’s possible to find big amounts, I found $200 in a suit jacket once and sometimes jewelry in pockets. Take care .PEACE. ✌️✌️✌️✌️✌️✌️✌️🥰🥰🦮🦮🦮🦮🦮🦮🦮🥰🥰💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯

You can find a violin makers label on the inside of the violin, you can see the label through the F holes (sound holes) on top of the instrument. You can then research the maker and find the violin value most of the time.

You got your money's worth with just those nice green totes. Those should come in hand hauling things to the flea market. Since they are plastic, they won't get wet if there is dew on the grass or recent rains at the flea market locations. If you haven't already disposed of the older violin, the bows can sometimes be worth a lot more than the violin, depending on who made it and what it is made from so you might want to have it looked at. Thanks for sharing!

The Seder Plate is used during Passover. This one has three levels for the 3 Matza's needed for the ceremony of the meal. The hoodie that says Ramapo is from New York state and from a orthodox Jewish community. It may be silver plate, you need to check on the plate.

11:55 The books are in Hebrew. PossiblyTalmud and Midrash. Someone else said Babylonian Talmud - roll with it. The market is narrow for those locally. I'd bet Google Images could read the titles. I can't read Hebrew for beans, but I'd bet you could sell those on line as a set. Bring both busted violins to Lambertville. Even broken ones make good decorations, and people make the broken ones into other things. 16:32 Seder plate of some sort - for Passover. Not sure why it's on a stand like that.

When scavenging I come across a lot of books like that foreign language books and all that. You have got to have some type of book club or rare book collector in your area. Just Google that. Take those books to them first because I have been shocked on how much some of these books like you have there are worth incredible amounts of money. Really I thought a lot of what I had was just stuff that's going to have to be recycled and then I find out know I can actually get about 500 to $2,000 for these books and I was really shocked. Also when you get a big box full of paperwork a lot of it's probably going to be just worthless however I go through every single sheet of paper because I have found bearer bonds and rare documents I found one time a civil war document that I was able to sell for about $700 to a collector so you never know what's in these documents. And I'm sure any piece of paper that you get that you're not going to keep your car to recycle anyway right LOL, but when you have something that is so questionable you really must get it looked at because things I thought were just pure trash turned out to be pure treasure

Look inside the older violin for a makers name. My great uncle made violins in the 1920-1940s. A few years ago someone bought one with his label inside and restored it and donated it to a local museum.

That’s so cool that a violin your great uncle made has been restored and is in a museum 😊
@karenkoe709611 ай бұрын
@@donnawentz2221 Actually it is a museum/history center for the county. While I knew he had made violins, I had never seen one. One day I traveled to the History center to do a little research. I needed something copied. When the woman assisting me saw what I was copying she asked me if I was related to this great uncle. I said I was. She led me to a glass case with the violin displayed in it and even let me open it and hold it and check it out. Shame KZbin won't let us post pictures because I took some and would show it off for him!!!

@@marilynhemingway5219 I am learning some Hebrew, but just know like the transliteration of the words. I can recognize that the writing is Hebrew, but I couldn't tell you what it says, unfortunately. I wish I could. I love Judaica. A long time ago, he got what he thought was just some kind of ornate candelabra. It was a Jewish menorah that I would have loved to have. I tried messaging him on Facebook, but he never got back to me, so I'm just assuming he had already sold it and was too busy to answer, or he really didn't know what I was referring to because of all the inventory he's got coming and going or he suspected I might be some crazy kook. LoL Either way, it's all good. If I can't have it, I trust it's going into good hands, people who will appreciate it. I hope your day is blessed. Have a good one.
