What kind of collars are on the cats? Tracking collars?

Exactly, that's AirTags. They don't work as well as in the city, but even when they occasionally lose them sometimes, I usually manage to find them most of the time.

Does that battery take the place of the generator? If so, will be much quieter.

Actually, they work together I charge the battery with the generator, so it only needs to run for about an hour every three days.
