What you have is the last posessions of a person that was in Hospice Care or about to die. Meds of every kind for comfort. Colored pencils and crossword books as things to do when you’re trying to keep your mind occupied. Tons of clothes, new underwear and socks. Then some miscellaneous stuff that meant something to that person. I’m in Hospice Care and my room has a lot of similar things.

I get it, I actually use my high school locker lock to secure my gym locker when I go. I can't remember much, but I certainly was able to remember the combo! I don't know anything about baseball cards but even at $0.50 each you probably have a few hundred dollars there. From reading some other comments it might be a lot more than that. Is there an underground tote trade among resellers - a lot of you must end up with so many. Don't often hear, "Diapers - smells good," in the same sentence :). Congratulations, don't spend it all in one place and have a great weekend!

Haha, I'm guessing that diaper was unused! It's funny when I was editing I noticed that I did say that the plastic tool box smelled like lotion, or something, but I did notice a smell. Made sense once we opened it! Taco Stacks is going to go through the cards and will keep some from his team, payment for opening up the lock! The cards look to be mostly from the 80s, and I'm clueless about the value. So some research will need to be done! Hope you have a wonderful weekend! More likely something that will have to be sold in substantial lots for some small percentage of what each card might fetch if a buyer wanted to buy a single card. Listing each single card with suitable photos to demonstrate its condition would probably take over a decade to complete if you first quit your day job. Hope springs eternal. I can say there isn't a signed Babe Ruth tobacco card in among the piles and piles of cards. I once had to liquidate a huge inherited stamp collection. Choices were open up a stamp store and man it all week long, or bundle it in lots and auction it off. The decedent claims it was worth $400,000. It fetched $27,000 total at auction. Nobody ever mentions all the time it takes to market collectibles as singe items, especially cards and comic books.

If you list them in blind lots, how is that better than using an auction house which would allow buyers to sift throught the lots prior to the auction to get a get a better idea of their value? Nobody ever shows us the amount of time it takes to market and sell the "treasures" they find in storage lockers. It would make them look like idiots.

You did VERY well for you $5 outlay. Don't forget the pockets - I found $35 dollars in the back pocket of a pair of womens jeans when I got home. The best find was a 9 carat mens wedding ring in a bundle of jeans that i addded to as I went around my Op shop circuit, no idea which store it came from & no inscription in the ring. I'll probable sell it. You just never know!

The best unit I got the auctioneer gave it to me as I bought a few that day. It had a money box with $240 in it. Paid for all the units I bought that day. So you never know what you might get. Thanks for sharing.

Please be careful whom you take those cards too. There are a lot of people that will lie to you if you have something very valuable. I used to collect baseball cards as a kid and a lot of what I had were the 50's to the early 90's cards. Cards that are autographed but not personalized are worth more. (To Paper and Moose your truly Rollie Fingers would be a personalization of a card)

Pro tip; before you trash a new $30 toolbox with a Sawzall find a locksmith. They can take the lock off and probably give you the combo too.

I wouldn't sell the toothpaste, but it's fine to use. My dad was a clearance rack hoarder and had dozens of travel size toothpastes. I used them all while living with him. Great locker! Lots of fun! I would be all over all those socks!!! 😊

Usually the cheapest auctions are in-person and I am not permitted to record the auction at the sites. Cheaper because people can see what’s actually in a unit, not just rely on 3 photographs online and have people bidding because there is a photo of a single vintage box of Nike sneakers.

I was laughing from the very first scene that you showed with the locked tool chest. For five bucks, you already are a winner. Wow - look at all those totes! All of the t-shirts, socks, shorts and long johns were incredible. The bonanza was those baseball cards ... the great Georgie Brett, Rollie Fingers (pronounced like Rolly). The laptops were great. Hard drives, erased, always sell. Of course, you just have to make sure there's nothing Presidential on them! An extra computer, or two, is also always handy to have around the house, as well. Awesome stuff and a kick to watch! Thanks for taking us along.

The toolbox looks new and is full of new things. I bet that was a gift "basket" someone put together where the box and lock were also part of the gift. I do things like that all the time. The items were random things that the gifter either knew the recipient could use, or thought might be appreciated. Likely other items were included that were actually used.
