At my high school you started out the year with 10 whacks and every time you got sent to the dean's office he added two . You had the option to call your dad and tell him what you did . I always took the whacks . One year there was 5 boys sent to the dean's office and I was up to 32 whacks . I said I wanted to go first . Another boy got 16 whacks and the rest got 10 . Everyone had tears in there eyes but me . On the way back to class two of the boys said why did you want to go first and how do you keep your eyes from watering . I said I want to get it over with and my dad hits three times as hard as the Dean . One of the boys said I wanted to be your friend but I'll never come to your house .

At or about 22:00, the four stainless steel containers, I believe those are for performing an enema on a patient. A hose would attach to the nozzle end; when opened, the liquid would flow out and through the tube into the ... well, let's just say the receiving orifice. Hahah.
@darlenewilson9851
@darlenewilson9851 2 жыл бұрын
The blue speckled bedpan has lots more antique value than the stainless steel one. If I had it, I'd arrange pots of herbs in it and keep it in full view, LOL. Same box? The white slit-urinal is for women. In addition to egg beaters and other household utensils, this collection was rich in hospital paraphenalia. Good stuff - it I were teaching a class in appraisals, would love to have many of these wonderful artifacts. That bubble ashtray, Grandma V? My mom had that - two of them in fact - one was clear like the one you showed. The other was amber. I associate the latter with the Seventies.

I think the "urine cups" are soap suds enema cans. A rubber tube would be attached to the spout at the bottom of the pan. They used to save the remains of the little bars of soap from the patients rooms and the the nurses aides would fill the can with warm water and rub the soap remains together to make the "suds". They could be hung from an IV pole while the water was going into the patient. Exciting times when the hospital started getting little packages of liquid soap - like the size of a ketchup package. 🤣🤣

Wade there is no way a pressure cooker or canner would still be under any pressure. Once the jiggler is off of it the pressure would be release. The old one you couldnt get opened is stuck probably because of the old rubber gasket & your not familiar with how they lock & unlock. No reason to be afraid of them. Love watching you guys.
