Had a couple of these now and I have to say the extra spec is nice to have like the HUD, reverse camera and H&K. But, it doesn’t change the driving experience which is the best part about these cars to be honest! A great choice, you might get attached 😁

Great MINI! You asked about what you should do for an upgrade. We have a 2016 JCW and a 2023 JCW. We’ve added an engine brace from ultra racing to both. And upgraded the chassis braces on both. Great bang for the buck and added stability.

Just picked up a 2016 JCW hardtop. 12k miles on it. Base spec but I don't want anything extra that can break. I just wanted the driving parts over the S model. I found a touch screen stereo replacement I'll do and some minor performance stuff. Car rips easily over 140mph and stable. It's the best car in its class and nothing can compare to it for the price of a used one.

Love it. I sold my A35 AMG last week as we are getting a T6.1 Camper. Wouldn’t have entertained that if my Mrs didn’t have her Silver White Clubman JCW (with ProNav, HUD reverse camera and HK but no pan roof!). JCW makes a great noise being a 2017 car. Reverse camera is useless unless you clean the lens everytime you get in. Looking forward to the mini content and the returning giveaways. Keep up the good work.

Had an F56 too. BRG with the challenge wheels. Best car I have owned. You can buy the black line kit from mini proper black plastic no cheap vinyl wrap.

i was so borderline between one of these and an M135i and despite the BMW being the best car I've owned, i still find myself searching for the JCW. I love these cars, but for me the R56 is the one I'd go for. Great video as always Luke, top lad, looking forward to this series!

Great choice- I have a cooper s and the best upgrade for these in terms of bang for buck is a res delete incase you were wondering 😉 sounds like a pro exhaust for about a tenth of the price

Just bought myself a Mini Clubvan with a few extras, love driving it great fun and very rare! 950 on the road in the uk and only 75 like mine with the 2.0 diesel auto Cooper. It’s got some nice AP racing brakes fitted.

Still haven't tested these brakes out properly yet. Not sure if they're any good or if they boil quickly like the ones on the MLites.

@@lookship mine are pretty rubbish till warmed up! The person I bought it off raced Mini’s so put a set of the race brakes on the Van and a Cooper S set up on the back, you can feel it braking more on the rear when you first set off. Only owned it a few weeks my first modern Mini had a 1995 Mini 35 anniversary years ago great fun to drive but wanted attention all the time!!

I probably could have got one sooner, but I was holding out for one with literally everything on it. Realised they were few and far between, compromised a little and found this one after a few days 😅 Love it. Definitely requires some tweaking 😉

The earlier cars without the stupid Union Jack lights look so much better but they have the worlds shortest fuel gauge. It’s such an afterthought. Did you consider the GPII? They’re a hoot to drive. Shame it’s on RFT’s. Standard tyres were a no cost option.

I did have a look at a GP. Fancied something a bit more up to date. New GPs are the same price bracket as the GR Yaris and I know what I'll be picking out of those 2 when I can afford one 😅

We put bronze Team Dynamics on my partners Mini. Was about 2kg lighter per wheel than the stock Cooper S wheels and an inch bigger and wider! Forge intake gave the turbo a much more agressive sound and a resonator delete gives a nice exhaust note but not loud at all but more more pronounced pops

Be such a change getting rid of the run flats. Goodyear eagle f1 asymmetric 6 are a great tyre and not too expensive

Great video. I too found it difficult to get the exact spec I was after. I'd have liked reversing camera, folding mirrors and 8.8 screen. But I did get the HUD, heated front windscreen and (as it's an LCI model) Apple CarPlay. Looking forward to your content.

Be interested to hear your thoughts on turn-in and steering feel. The 140’s really lack in that area, M3 arms help but not the feel! Saying that my M2 comp isn’t exactly full of feel either… epas I guess

Haven't actually drove an auto JCW, but it has the same ZF gearbox as I had on my M140i and it was excellent on there.

Megane CUP-S if you need the bigger car If not and you can deal with being called a chav, the ST was great fun. I could have picked up another M140i instead of this F56 so I can't really say you'd save a lot of money buying one unless it had moon miles.

Hi bud, love the car, I also have the F56 JCW, Mines a soft top, my only gripe with my car which is a manual, is that I find the clutch pedal quite heavy to depress..is this common or am I just being picky. Have fun in yours..cheers

No that's fair I'd say. Heavier than any of the standard Jap clutches I've had.

I've got the newer model (2021 MY) but with everything on it except for HK audio (MINI removed it as an option for a while, because of supply chain issues at HK causing orders to be delayed by months), same seats, manual box, black finishing kit. @M4rtin81 on paper 228bhp. Most people who dyno them standard get about 235-240 though. Noticeable difference between this and the Mountune 215 Fiesta ST I had so I'd imagine this might be around 240ish. Will get around to sticking it on the dyno at some point to find out.

I'm the exact opposite. I love the racing stripes. Here in the states, the moonroof is very easy to find in all configurations when you go form Cooper S to JCW. Strange that in the UK it's rare

Get the front door speakers replaced with Audison speakers. The speakers fitted by Mini are horrendous made in China cardboard ones,. Easy upgrade to do and well worth it

Looked at the Cupras, but was put off by the naff interior. Would be a great shout if you needed a bigger car though because these things, even though they aren't as 'Mini' as they used to be, they aren't very big inside...

The seal situation is shit. BMW we’re fixing them at one point. Our 2016 car was taken back and had the cills repainted and a PPF kit fitted. The supposedly redesigned seals then did the same thing. Shite.
