In this video, I will search through all the old Silver coins and other coins from the 2 bags I purchased from my Silver/Coin Dealer. I paid $1500 in total but he knows the things I like and said that a customer came in and just sold all of their coin collection to him. Since I usually purchase all the old silver and he knows I like copper too, he let me get it all! I will be looking for key dates, semi key dates, upgrades, and of course and varieties within the years I hunt. I also will be assessing the value of the 2 bags to see if I did good in buying this coin collection. Hopefully you all enjoy this video! I know it's a bit long, but we had a lot to go through! That coin at 17:30 is a twenty-cent piece, not a Seated Liberty quarter. It's a little smaller than a quarter and has a smooth rather than a reeded edge. The eagle on the reverse also looks like that on a Trade dollar. That's good news because the twenty-cent coin is worth considerably more than the common 1875-S quarter.
@Cardmaster1211 ай бұрын
It’s funny cuz the 1875S 20 cent piece actually had a substantially higher mintage than the 1875S quarter, it’s just more desired and as such worth a lot more.

I just acquired some of the barbers and a peace dollar in the same years as yours that were high relief and except for the two of them having (one Barber and the 1921 peace dollar) the black tarnish on one side of the coins they're in excellent shape in my opinion and I'm going to go with your experience with coins and say that they're worth what you quoted easily. Considering all's I did was do some repair work for this lady in exchange for them I came out way ahead I feel pretty good about adding them to my collection! Thanks Rob you're the man!

The best part of this vid was that large cent with the “alterations” - if you will - because I never heard the back story behind those, super interesting!! I wish you could have went into more detail, although I def understand that you were trying to keep it rated G as well haha….But when you were explaining the situation on that large cent about the “E” changed to a “U” - your chuckle as you were tip-toeing around it - was absolutely priceless!!! Take those Trade dollars to a dealer you trust and have them checked out: they were very heavily counterfeited. It was easy to pass them off at the time of issue because most people in America had never seen them. They were made to circulate overseas (mostly in China). And later on, when they gained numismatic value, they were also counterfeited to a large extent. I wouldn't buy one by itself unless it were in a slab already.
@RobFindsTreasure3 жыл бұрын

Generally speaking, it’s advisable to get one or two nice coins for $1500 then a grab bag of AG to very good coins. But it always depends on what you’re looking for for it looks like you actually have those Whiteman folder books and you insert these dimes and quarters as you find them in rough shape and if you enjoy collecting that this is much more efficient than buying those coins individually
