I happened to be watching this video with my wife last night and she heard your part at the end talking about all that goes into making these videos and she said “he sounds JUST like you Jake!” I took that as a compliment 😂 Making quality videos isn’t quick or easy but sure is rewarding! I’ve learned a lot about video making from watching your videos Mike, thanks for putting in the effort!

Mike.... (and Happy, Happy Mother's Day to Melissa ! I've been watching your videos for in excess of 5 years now ! I have concluded that in my mind, the single greatest thing that the two of you have going for yourselves ( besides your incredible family), is the obvious communication that the two of you share both on screen and off ! It appears that very little gets done around the Morgan Estate without both of you being on the same page , having discussed , and coming to conclusions on what's best for you and the family ! It's just refreshing to see both of you "pulling in the same direction" to get things accomplished !

Mike, no you explained it exactly right on the carbon. Dont sell yourself short there. One of the biggest reasons I like to watch your channel is to see how you go about your work and what you do to produce. Operating machinery, I notice that you make use of every movement on the equipment you are using , meaning you waste no movement and are producing work with each movement. This is very true with most people that have worked professionally as an operator in construction. I have made a video in the past and it is nothing short of a heck of a lot of work. Keep up the great channel. Steve

HAPPY MOTHERS DAY MELISSA Mike your explanation of burning and carbon is spot on. My wife Daughter and grandkids along with me had a huge fire last night from brush and log scrapes from last few months we do stuff don't just sit and worry about carbon lol we love you answering these tree huggers and I'm a tree lover but God made trees and took in account the carbon factor when he made Fire. It's God's plan. Really enjoy your stuff. Also The fellow who said you sit to much has no imagination. Long ago I imagined how much work it takes you to set up film climbing in out of equipment I'm a much smaller version of you but with a now disability from 5 major spine surgery from a fall from a tree I realize how hard just logistically doing stuff is on your body. Great video as always, Mike ! It being Mother’s Day… and Mother nature has always had lightning strikes, that naturally burn thousands of acres of woodlands! Just like what happened in Yellowstone, several years ago. It Naturally helps, to enrich the ground, with extra soil fertility…which allows healthy new-growth. Certain tree species , have seeds cones… that are only opened, by the needed heat, during forest fires …to replenish the forest. Burning brush piles…is Definitely not hurting anything on a large scale. For people that have never burned any brush piles..you will see plants coming up very quickly… in those spots from the ashes.

But of course there's way more in your average day we will never see, and I understand that too. Far as we know, you still drive into town and walk in the morning. Most of your life is none of our business. That's why I wouldn't ask a lot of questions. We watch and enjoy what you give us, and that in turn gives you compensation. It's a win/win! We all should be happy w that and just figure if your daily exercise isn't in the video, well, it's none of our beeswax. When you describe the effort moving cameras, always scares me. One day you'll have enough of that and there goes our favorite channel. We can never thank you enough. You're awesome. Thanks.👍🚜❤️🙏🇺🇸🇺🇸

I don’t know if you remember when all this carbon stuff started and they used to say that because a tree took in the same amount of CO2 during its life when it was living as what is emitted when you burn it, they consider it carbon neutral, idk. Fires have been around forever. Anyways I enjoy your videos cheers.

Well I'm glad you do get uour exercise while working and filming videos but what amazes me is how you don't have to do much manual labor because you've mastered how to do everything with your machines.they are an extension of your arms and hands and it's fun to watch. With the thumb andnthe rale on the excavator it's like your reaching out with your fingers and picking things up .pretty amazing because your saving your body a lot of wear and tear and that means a lot as you age. I've destroyed all my joints busting my butt physically my whole life with hard heavy manual labor and to se you using machines to do it all is quite amazing to watch. I've had two shoulder replacements and both knees replaced and ruptured my left chillies tendon and arthritis everywhere at 50 yrs old and now 63 and was told by my surgeons I was way to young to be having those things done. But that's how badly I abused my body working hard and not smart. You still cut the and split firewood by hand but I don't think that will be to bad on you.its good exercise actually I use to split wood with an axe when I was young man in my 20's and alot of it. I just always loved to do physical work from the time I was about 12 yrs old but I've paid dearly for it the last 15 yrs. But you've got quite the impressive operation going on there at the Woodyard. But nice to see you got some help from the guys. That makes quick work of it.

If I can offer a bit of wisdom. Eating late at night can lead to cholesterol build up. A friend (140 lbs) had triple bypass surgery after a few years of working all day and loading up on food at night. If your walking 10K steps a day, this may not be an issue for you but its better for your body to eat several small meals a day, if possible. Thanks for all you and Melissa do and the wholesome marriage and family you let us be a part of. If your on KZbin or not, the world is a better place with you in it. You have my respect and admiration.

Hey Mike, I think the thing you are missing about the comment on the wasting firewood when burning in a burn pit is, in alot of areas (including mine, Newfoundland Canada), the wood you burn in that pit is what we would consider quality firewood. Our growing season is short here, and our firewood is typically in the 4 to 10" diameter and also our trees are not tall at all. In your area, i can see why you would not fool with processing it for firewood. It just varies from area to area.

Mike, have you ever considered stacking your firewood front to back in your shed, instead of left to right? Left to right rows are last in-first out, whereas front to back rows are first in/first out. It's much easier to keep up with seasoned wood doing it front to back. Each row is stacked at different times of the year and can be pulled from the oldest row and cycled. That's how I do it anyway.

Very true! My grandfather and some of his friends retired at the same time. His friends sat on their porches, drank beer, and read the paper. My granddad worked on the gardens, chopped wood, built an enclosed porch, golfed, and bowled, among other things. Within ten years, all of his friends were dead. He made it to eighty-nine. He would have lived longer, but his idiot doctor told him to cut way back on his activities because of his age. Same thing with my other grandfather. Stupid doctors!
