The black haired one was so realistic , she just didn’t understand how to work with the curly hair. It looked good she just didn’t try working with it. I have extremely long hair (a little past my waist) and normal wig caps do hurt my head too and it's bc there is so much hair in it that it makes the wig cap too tight. I think since your hair is long that's also why yours hurts. In order to make wearing a wig cap bearable I ordered an 'extra large wig cap.' You can find them on Amazon, They're made for people with large heads but they also work amazingly for all of us long haired girls. Hope this helps!

You have to customize the wig out of the box. You have to pluck the hairline and parting to make it look natural.

For the root problem you can get a black (or w/e color you want your root to be) sharpie or any alcohol based ink and dye it. Works so well for syntetic wigs 😁

You can actually fix all of these with a blowdryer alone. The heat won't melt the fibers [I haven't seen a synthetic wig in years that does that with a blowdrying, but DONT USE HOT TOOLS LIKE IRONS]. You can restyle the part super easy but sorting out the hair in the direction you want or where you want the part to be, clip that down, use drying on slow setting to mold the hair to keep it in those directions. Basically reshaping the fiber's set direction with the direction you want them to go. You can also add volume with a dryer but lifting the hair, blowing, keeping it lifted as it cools, and you just use a comb to fluff up the volume. These aren't bad wigs, but they need a little TLC aside from just throwing them on your head and hoping out of the packaging styling is enough.
