For coffee syrup, you can't beat homemade. Start with 1 part sugar to 1 part water and edit for sweetness to taste. Boil together two minutes. Add a tiny pinch of citric acid to prevent crystallization if you're not using within a week or two. Add flavoring of your choice -- I use 2 tsp to one cup sugar.

@ StayStay As someone who has watched Rachel on KZbin for 12 years, I can say that she is the exact same person today as she was 12 years ago, in terms of her character and who she is as a person. She has always been nothing but genuine, honest, upbeat, kind and relatable. No acting, no show, no performance. She is one of the rare original KZbinrs who haven’t changed with success and money. This is just who she is, and how she has always been, and I love her for it. It’s why I have remained a viewer and supporter of hers for all of these years. I’m sorry for whatever is going on in your life that would make you perceive her happy and bubbly personality to be a negative thing, or her positive excitement when speaking to her loving husband to be anything other than genuine and wholesome. Words have meaning and can have serious impacts on others, good or bad. Just because your making these comments from behind a screen towards someone online, that doesn’t mean your words lose their meaning and impact or can’t be harmful or hurtful to someone. What you wrote was rude, unkind and uncalled for, targeted towards someone who has only ever been the opposite of those things. I say this genuinely, but I sincerely suggest looking in the mirror and evaluating why you felt the need to say something negative and hurtful towards someone who has done nothing wrong and has only ever tried to spread positivity, cheerfulness and happiness to others. You don’t have to share every negative thought that pops into your head about somebody else. Some things are better left unsaid, and this is certainly one of those times. I pray you will use your words more wisely in the future, and will consider your potential to be hurtful towards someone before you speak or hit send, whether online or in person.

Some cereals are MADE to be eaten after they've had a bit to absorb some of the milk! Honey Bunches of Oats with Almonds for example, the almonds soften into a much nicer texture after the first few bites, not to mention the bigger oat bunches which take some time for the milk to work its way into. It leads to a variety of textures, with a sweet spot for the best overall mouth feel being in a different spot for different people, but I have yet to meet someone who likes Honey Bunches of Oats (at least the almond one) as trail mix with no milk whatsoever, though now that I mention it I'm sure someone will pop up and say "I LOVE HBoOw/A as trail mix!" 😂

The Awake chocolate was a HUGE help for my little one. He has hydrocephalus and went through an extended period of time where he was overshunting (draining too much cerebral spinal fluid) and would be in such SEVERE pain. Think pain worse than a migraine. Drinking was not an option for him as liquid for some reason made him even more nauseous. So we turned to Awake bars, per recommendation from his neurosurgeon, and he was able to tolerate them and half a bar would bring his fluid back up to a normal level and alleviate the pain. I have no idea what we would have done without it. He was struggling with dehydration so much and we were constantly in and out of the hospital, until the Awake bars came along. Just wanted to share this in case there's anyone else out there who is treated with caffeine for medical issues. Look into it! It's been SO helpful for us!

Rachel, for house scent, I think you’d enjoy Lampe berger. Been around forever, beautiful lamps you fill with fragrance oils (you can even combine to create your own scents). You do have to light it but then you blow it out and the stone on top is what keeps pulling the scent up the wick. It has a protective cover as well (still gets hot but no open flame). The scents can really fill up a house. I’ve had mine for years.

If you want crunchier cereal put the milk in first, then the cereal. You can dunk the cereal down into the milk if you want it soggier. I don’t actually put all the cereal I’m going to eat in the bowl all at once. I really love crunchy cereal and rice crisps are my favorite category, and soggy rice crisps are nasty. I also make rice crispy treats with brown butter and marshmallow fluff. I think LeCreuset is better hands down. I have gotten a lot of mine from TJ Maxx/Homegoods/Marshall’s. My LeCreuset is over 20 years old and still looks new and performs like new. I also have a Martha Stewart enameled cast iron Dutch oven and a Lodge enameled cast iron skillet. The enamel has chipped on the rim of the MS and Lodge pans more, and I think they’re not as easy to clean. I use Bar Keeper’s Friend powder and even the brown stains that are common on cream enameled interiors and the bottom of the pans come off. BKF also works wonderfully on stainless steel pans. *** I HATE how Our Place pans encourage people to deep fry food in their shallow pans. It’s a FIRE HAZARD. I only deep fry in my largest 6 quart Dutch oven and never fill it more than halfway up. I try to make sure even when I’m frying the food that the level of oil is as close to half as possible. If oil bubbles up over the edge of the pan, it will catch on fire.

I've tried the Awake chocolate. It was fine. I have an unusually high caffeine tolerance, but one day I got stuck at work 4 hours late at the last minute, and I was just about ready to pass out so I pounded the last of my coffee drink (three shots of espresso) and then ate four of the Awake chocolates in quick succession. That was one of only two times I have ever actually felt the effects of caffeine, and it did NOT help with work (did get everything done though, didn't have to come in on a Saturday which was the goal).

I can't bring myself to just not fill a bowl all of the way, when I know I will technically eat it all 😅Eventually, I got smaller bowls, and just went back for seconds. Works SO much better for me, no soggy cereal at all- except when I go back to using the normal-sized bowls because I don't feel like getting seconds 😂

The stone essential oil thing remends me of the Febreeze Small Spaces scent things. They're only meant for a bathroom or closet or something like that. I feel like because there isn't a flame to carry the scent further, there's not really a big difference in a large room. (If that makes sense). Also if you're looking for a small room scent option that is completely flame free, the small spaces work very well in bathrooms or other small rooms like that.

Only problem is that if shipping is more than a day, the packs melt. If you get them from Amazon, they just come in the box. We’ve gotten orders that clearly melted and solidified again. I'm curious how hot the coffee was for the Allo powder And if it was hotter it would dissolve better. Because if you didn't need to blow it before you took a sip it probably wasn't hot enough.

Growing up I hated soggy cereal too but liked the taste of cereal. Solution: cereal in a bowl without milk. If you have to have the milk... just pour of glass of milk and drink it while you eat. I ended up not being able to drink dairy anyway so now I just eat cereal as a snack without the milk and it's fine.

Lol Rachel I love you vids but have to ask....if you can't use a metal spoon shy does a metal knife work? Maybe a sturdy plastic spoon would be better (like ones made for backpacking?)

She used the handle of the knife (which is plastic) to stir.

@@mikkilewis5312 ahh that makes sense! I missed the actual stirring with it so I wasn't sure
