I've only bought 2 things through TikTok Shop and they were pretty good. One was this licensed Pokemon jacket that was no longer being sold, so a reseller was trying to get rid of the extra stock that was sitting around in a warehouse. The other was a coffee table that is pretty solid, my only issue was it looks slightly smaller than what I was expecting. It's definitely not great, it won't replace Amazon, and it's definitely predatory towards its user base of mainly teens. But if you are particular about the quality of the items you choose to buy it can be okay

Idk if this is covered later but Blood Flow Restriction is a real training methodology to be able to get muscle growth with much less weight. Its used by all kinds of people from rehabilitation from injury, to those with conditions that prevent them from using large weights but still needed to prevent muscle atrophy to even the 2023 worlds strongest man Mitchell Hooper because using less weight to get hypertrophy reduces the systemic fatigue that can be saved for bigger compound lift training. Now I don't know that the one on tiktok is good or not but advanced ones that control the pressure precisely can actually be quite expensive.

The problem is more that they have almost got a monopoly on the young audience, and now the brand tiktok is trying to monetise on that. The individual creators are fine, don’t hate the player hate the game. Also on most sponsors, it’s not comission based and creators get paid regardless of if the viewer buys it or not. On TikTok shop you only get paid on comission, and so are incentivised to say the product is better than it is (or some cases cheaper than it is) just to get a sale. Its the age demographic + the incentive that makes it predatory
