Ive owned an Xt30 for over 2 years and its great.When the mk2 was released Fuji commented that there were 87 differences.The new price remained the same though.So in effect they improved a great camera.The next gen Xtrans is close to being announced and it seems it will be something to look forward to.

I'm sure the marketing department listed every possible difference they could come up with😀 Is there a list of all those 87 differences anywhere? Would be interesting to see. However, to my understanding the only significant differences were the screen and bigger buffer.

Surprised to see no one suggested the 18-55mm kit lens. Many people say it is the best kit lens. Pretty sharp. OIS helps compensate for the lack of IBIS. A great lens to start your Fuji experience. I too bought a XT30 at a good price used. Right after I bought it the MIi model came out and the value dropped. Overall, the MIi isn’t a big improvement. Like all the XTx0 models are smaller versions of the single digit XT bodies. They have ~75% of the XT_ at a lower price. The Q button surprisingly was corrected on the MIi. There is a work around where it can be deactivated. A shame to loose a button. My work around is buying a 2nd party grip. The body was already too small for me to carry around for long periods. Not only is it more comfortable to hold, I hit the Q button less. I like this body. With the kit 18-55 I get image stabilization and the focal lengths I most use. For primes the Fuji crons work very well with this body. Small. Lite. Relatively fast and a good price. For me this was a good purchase. I hope you enjoy your new Fuji gear. Mask On Nurse Marty

Yeah, the 18-55 kit lens is killer. I bought this camera new when it came out with that lens, and I'm very happy with it. The positioning of the Q button really stinks, though. 🙂 And it's a bummer that Fuji doesn't allow tethering on the X-T30.

My first and second Fuji cameras were great until my second had a spot on the lens. Its was in 2007, the camera cost me £220. Fuji estimated £180 to remove the spot from the lens. I decided to look for another camera, I carried on lookin until 2009 when I discovered the Panasonic Lumix, and that is my go to camera for ever.

Hello, I have an XT30 now, and I still have two XT1s which I will just keep till death do us part since it is no longer produced and Fuji USA said there are no longer parts available for the XT1's. I was commenting though to let you know that for my XT30 I got a used mint condition JJC HG-XT30 base with grip extender pretty cheap somewhere, most likely Adorama. Anyway, it solves the issue about the position of the tripod screw hole and places it dead center which is a standard. It has a cutout for the battery access and extends the grip out nice in the front. I think Fuji actually makes their own version but this one is stable of good quality. I was having the same issue as you about accidentally hitting the Q button so I completely disabled it and move Q function to the Fn button located front near the shutter. I shoot Sony, Canon and Fuji so it has taken me a while to get around to playing with and learning this XT30 because I was always grabbing a XT1on the run, a body I know well. Peace.

I´m currently looking to get another budget camera for someone just starting out, and Fuji is definitely my choice this time. I love my X-T3 for hobby stuff and use it often together with my A7iii that I use for work. Looking at the price on the used market, the X-T10/20/30 are all very interesting models, but they all lack some features that I feel I cannot miss out on, like weather sealing or the dpad. I also enjoy the buttons on the front like the X-T1/2/3/4 have, as the smaller sibling models also come with fewer buttons in general - but those front buttons are not a must-have. In total, I love the X-T~~ lineup a lot, but there´s just something that makes me rather look at other models. Currently, I´m eyeing the X-T2 for that reason. A solid camera for a very good used price. Only thing that it really lacks is a touch display, which the X-T20 does have. The X-T1 is even cheaper, but if I can get an X-T2, then that would be great. Only thing coming to mind would be getting an X-T200, which is actually a really nice camera in general aswell. Problem there are just the plastic body with lacking weather sealing and the low amount of used options so far. Conclusion: I love the X-T30 as I love my X-T3. The X-T30 is certainly a great deal for those wanting more and that are able to spend the money. For everyone else starting out or looking for something even cheaper, the used market for Fuji is decently sized and their older models will still perform just as amazing except for maybe video and AF speed. If you got the money and the X-T30 got everything you need, then go for it. You won´t be disappointed. Great video with an interesting message. Trying out many different systems is always something good, and I hope you keep looking and all the options out there. Not as a gear-centric kind of thing, but as you do now, in your way of "feeling the photography" based on experience rather than functions and features.

Don't bother with weather sealing for a complete beginner. Unless they use the camera in rain, it should be alright. The x-t200 is a very nice beginners choice. Fully articulated 16:9 touch screen, nice EVF, a very nice introduction into the Fujifilm world. EDIT: Also, weather sealed or not, there is always the risk of condensation build up if you use the camera in very cold climate and then put it in a warm car, room.

I like using RAW files for extra sharpness and so on, but I agree that JPEGs are amazing and impossible to match in editors I use (On1 PhotoRaw, RawTherapee). However I have some issues with X100V while I found Panasonic G80 basically flawless within limitations of body/sensor/age. Maybe I'm just not familiar with all settings 1) When I turn on camera, image is sometimes white and it takes like 10s to camera to accommodate exposure. Sometimes i need to half press shutter. Once it happened that camera took photos overexposed while preview was fine and what helped was turning camera off and on. I'll try firmware update which I haven't done since early autumn or so. 2) Metering. It seems that it prefers to measure exposure according to focus point even in matrix metering mode, but with lesser weight than point metering. So refocusing changes expose. Sometimes it's good, sometimes it's not cause it can result into overexposed clouds etc. 3) Like 1/100 photos is out of focus without any reason (most common reason is accidentally moving focus point, but these photos are not focused to anything) But since I have Fuji, I'm using it as every day carry camera and I'm using Panasonic very rarely - only when I need standard zoom, telezoom, video, ... it's much more versatile, but it's not fun to use.

The Fuji "kit" lens is the marvellous XF 18-55mm f2.8-4 that has image stabilization... The XC 15-45 is a very cheap lens, you were right to send it back. I think the only XC lens that is worth it, is the XC 50-230mm, though a bit slow it is a basic but capable lens. I have a Fuji XT2, and I use the JPEGs almost always, a quick Flick of a button and I change the film sim and see through the evf what film sim suits the shot better. Even though I also own an Olympus em10 mk iii with its wonderful IBIS, when I pick up my Fuji it is not at all a dealbreaker. I choose brands more by their color science (how the JPEGs are SOOC), how fun they are to use and together with their price of body and lenses. I don't like editing RAW files in LR or PS or any other RAW developer for that matter, so I love how Fuji and Olympus have great JPEGs SOOC, but particularly Fuji's in camera RAW conversion, and together with Fujifilm X RAW Studio software, that is a Joy to use other Fuji addicts film Sims, that is the biggest strenght of Fujifilm for me.

I have the Lumix GX80. How do you find the Fuji experience compared to the Lumix? I’m mainly looking for stills with good colours.

a very timely video thank you. couple of questions 1. does the camera have classic chrome simulation? 2. currently using G80/G85 can you use the lens from m43 with an adaptor on Fuji?
@mattisulanto2 жыл бұрын
Thanks. 1. It does have Classic Chrome and it looks great. 2. Can't use MFT lenses on Fuji.

In a similar situation l choose Sony A6300. Do you know why? Because its ovf is in the corner. And l have a large nose. :) The cameras are technically very high level nowadays. Actually there are only excellent and more excellent cameras on the market.

Thanks for sharing. You had a very good reason to choose the Sony😀
@adamkormendi59042 жыл бұрын
Then the Fuji X-E lineup is for you. Fuji X-Ts have bigger eyecup though, so they are better to use with the EVF (not OVF!) in the middle.

Remember you can't have too much coffee if you shoot with this camera with no ibis and all 😉. But jokes aside I hear these Fuji cameras are great for travel/street photography with the right lenses, so well worth looking into. Thanks for the vid!

You have to use new Sigma Lenses for Fuji; 16 30 and 56 F 1,4! The three all for 1000 euros. Fantastic Better is XS10 then XT30 and costs quite the same but it's stabilized. Let's change with XS10!

hi just looked at used prices and the Fuji is the same price as a G9 so not as much of a great deal as I was hoping for. if you had to pick only one would it be G9 or fuji

Over here the G9 body costs about 1.7 times more than the X-T30II body😀 It's hard for me to imagine that they would be the same price.

Interesting that your 15-45mm lens was not sharp. I had one and it was super sharp. Sharper than my 18-55mm and even some of my primes. I actually just sold it because the images looked very sharp but somehow quite sterile to me.

Mine was clearly a bad copy and that is not uncommon with kit lenses, regardless of the brand.

Gee are you sure this was a good purchase? No IBIS, tripod screw in wrong place, sent back the kit lens, spongy controls? The camera looks and performs great but that’s a lot of negatives. I just bought a used Olympus Pen F in sliver and love it. The only downside for me, is I preferred flip up screen but that’s it. No other complaints.
@mattisulanto2 жыл бұрын
The kit lens, as you probably know, is not part of the camera and even Olympus has bad lens copies. The tripod thread problem is also not unique for the Fuji and I have solved it already. I'm happy for you if you have found the perfect camera😀
@NBPT4282 жыл бұрын
I ordered a Fuji X-T30 to get into the Fuji system. I returned it not because it didn't perform but I have large hands and the controls were too cramped together for me. Bought an X-T3 and that solved the problem.

Thanks for sharing. The X-T30 is a small camera and probably not suitable for big hands. Good to hear the X-T3 works for you.

(3:46) Actually surprised you are using a Sony A7C for your videos, especially since you are basically describing how challenging the workflow is. After being a Lumix ambassador previously, it feels like your previous reviews of their cameras are a bit disingenuous. Comparing the Fuji X-T30 to Lumix cameras seems like it would make more since coming from you, than comparing it to a Sony… …
@mattisulanto2 жыл бұрын
The workflow it not a challenge at all, but it's a small challenge to switch between photo and video. The Sony autofocus makes the workflow really smooth actually. By the way, I now use the A7IV for my videos, because of that little problem with the A7C😀

@@mattisulanto To the point: You have basically built a credibility with Lumix cameras, thus your views of other camera would be more helpful coming from the perspective of a person who has use mainly Lumix in the past. I clicked on this video because, I too have an interest in Fuji cameras, they appeal to me. So when you compare the experience of using the X-T30 to a Sony camera, something gets lost in the translation. If you compare it to your Lumix experience, then I might have more of a connection to your point, because that is my frame of reference regarding your videos… …

@@Superz3ro I'm not really sure I understand you. I have been a photographer since 1970s and a professional photographer for 40 years. For my work I have used Canon, Nikon, Fuji, Hasselblad, Contax, Lumix, Olympus, Phase One, Mamiya, Toyo, Minolta, Sony and some other cameras.
