I BOUGHT MY DREAM CAR!

I couldn't be happier. I have dreamt of this since childhood.
This weekend I picked up my dream car, a 1974 T2 VW Camper van with an air cooled 70BHP engine (From a Porsche 914!). An icon of the 60s and 70s, with it's simplistic charm and analogue driving experience it has certainly won my heart. I cannot wait to embark on adventures with this thing, and I will do my very best to take you guys along with me!

I know that feeling way to good.. owning a veteran is truly something special. i once (sadly) owned a Volvo Duett from 1964 with the amazing 80 (ish) horsepower. and with only 3 gears. it was so slow and loud it was just a true joy to drive! the T2 camper van is something i would gladly own! :)

Things I highly recommend doing: Buy extra locks for the doors and the steiring wheel, you can open the doors easily with lockpicker things or just with pure brutal force and you can start it without the key. Keep a eye on it everytime, people will scratch their names on it or draw on it in a hippy mentality and because its nostalgic. Put some kind of a protection on the iron bar behind your head or else you have a hole in your head, at even the slightest rear_end collission. This is not intended to stop your enthusiasm about the car, but to help you and keep you safe.

If you dig into it, some cars have some looonnng names. One of my favorite cars, for example: 1987 Buick Regal T-Type Grand National, otherwise, just Grand National.

Here's a thing you should do in all of your vlogs / professional short movies: as soon as the post-commentary or the actual video's sound starts, damp the music down. 1) it's kinda hard to understand you and 2) we wanna hear that beautiful engine noise! ; ) Also the T1 looks much prettier with the two quarter-circles in the front.

For me, when I think VW-Bus, I think T1. But I'm not much of a car guy so I have no idea how much these things cost. Also you don't need to answer twice, you can just edit your first try.

Felix Klenk The T1 is most ppl idea of a VW bus, as much as they're prettier they are atrociously inconvinient. You can see the T2 rocks a 70bhp motor whereas the T1 don't come close to that, and being heavier makes even harder to drive. And don't forget these buses are aircooled, so you can't push a T1 nearly as much as a T2... plus the T1 is slowly becoming a showcar (where it gets it popularity), as the T2 is way more practical and still has a lot of character. As a camper I'll go 9/10 times for a T2, based on the looks I would go for a T1 too. But @Mumbo is right, in France (where I live) you can get your hands on a Westfalia T2 (camper equiped) rustfree and properly maintained, that looks mint for about 20-30k whereas for a T1 you're in for about 40-70k (euros) in the same state. Oh and have you ever heard of the T3 ? That I can agree looks Bad..
