You say patina, I say just plain butt ugly. People are taking the patina crap too far. Love the truck. Have fun, looking forward to seeing it fixed up.

A sweet 55. To fix the rust, replace the missing metal will go a long way in soothing those other vehicles you've stumbled upon. Glass with new rubber seals. Look into mid sixties seats (buckets). When you go to replace the frame/body bushings, cleaning and painting the frame will once again give you peace of mind in moving forwards into areas that will make it ride better and to encourage your sweethearts wanting to drive it. Good luck in finding what you need and want. I'll be watching🤠

If you get that fuel tank out of the cab and put one under the bed, cut out that fuel door setup on the side of the bed of that 2500, and weld it into the front or back of one of the '55's fenders. I'm encountering that challenge now on my '55 project. You can buy replacement fuel doors all day, but what it bolts to, and the contoured setup that the door closes into has to be cut out of a more modern fender. A square one from the 70's or 80's would look the best though. Good luck with your project. That Vortec is gonna Rock!!! 😎

Seems like a cool project. I thought finding a small block in the U.S shouldn´t be a problem, but the donor LS does obviously deliver more power and better fuel milage, than an old carby engine. Unfortunately over the pond here, we do not get trucks like this red one for cheap. So we are stuck, with whats available on marketplace, since shipping from overseas has sky rocketed...Good luck with the build. Looking forward to the next episode.

My uncle past oway a couple of months ago, he left me a Chevy truck just like this one in this video, he hald bought it for $1000 buck's from this older man back in the 90s here in California, this Chevy truck has no rust at all , it's Ben setting in our garage for years ,I'm in the thought of saleying it or bring it back to life. Not to sure

Should be good build, plenty of sheet metal work to do but a solid truck to start with. The LS swap and suspension and steering, brake upgrades will make it nice to drive, my junker 55 truck is just about done, its a old retired guy budget build not near as modern as your plans make yours. 💯🆒

@@samanthamachnik21 Hey the wife , I'm sure the husband would drive it like that , I the commentor could drive it like that ,for a while . I could see it though , in a satin paint (your favorite color ,of course) . Nice choice with the LS ,p/s ,p/b ,a/c and auto . Cool truck . I had a 56 GMC , 389 h/d 4 spd .

What a wreck. Here's my advice. Leave the chassis and engine alone because they are going to the dump. leave the cab on there just to fix all that damned metal!! That should take you a couple of years. gently blast it with something, even sand if you go easy on it not to warp the metal. Once the body is done, firewall smoothed, then work on the inside, primer it or even paint it. Then junk the donor vehicle body, keep the engine trans, chassis, power brakes and steering, column, everything you can, gas tank, exhaust, then you just build new body mounts for the cab, radiator core and new bed kit you bought and throw the 55's cab and bed on it. re wire it with a painless fuse box, paint it if you didn't, new weatherstripping, glass interior, Champion aluminum radiator, etc etc. I dont know why you would want to F with a mustang 2 and ford rear end when the donor vehicle has all that S. These trucks only need one new part: a new chassis. i myself, put my truck on a 79 4x4 chassis. factory sbc probably shy of 300. I've been there done this but you have a few peeps who want to see this build. I hope you can weld.
