I had an Alesis Nitro kit (as a beginner) and went to a Roland VAD 507 (and now with the new V71 module and digital snare, hihat an ride). Although of no use at all (it are triggers) I love the look an feel of an acoustic drum in an edrum. But it comes with a cost.

totally! I just think about how much it would cost just to rent a space to practice (over time) which can be crazy expensive (depending where you're based) unless you split it. To me spending £2.5k is a lot, but will likely save you bare P in the long run.
