I BOUGHT THE BADDEST G BODY BUILD EVER! “The Godfather” is here!

After putting my 67 Chevy 2 up forsale, it didn’t take long before it sold to a great friend of mine near Cleveland. He has built many incredible Chevy 2’s including the red 4 door that belongs to Azn on Street Outlaws.
In fact that’s how I was introduced to Chuck Church Jr!
Chuck took possession of the Nova, and I proceeded to go buy a car I’ve always dreamed of building, and I cannot believe I have it.

If you want to know more about that monte carlo let me know. I sold that car after getting from a friend of mine. Car came out of a pole barn in buckeye lake. It sat since the late 80s. Originally was silver. I have pictures of it when we got it from the barn.

Bill that 78’ Monte is sick and a rare beast, with the history of the car I’d name it Alonzo after the training day character. Two years ago I missed out on a low mileage 79’ Pontiac Grand Prix with a factory v8 and a 4 speed. Unfortunately someone else put a deposit on it before I had gotten there. I planned on putting the og drive train away and swapping in a mild 400 with a Muncie and a 3.73 rear gear. Sheesh that satin black wagon at Church Boys was awesome!!!!

My best friend in highschool had a black 79 monte carlo, we used to cruise that car every Friday and Saturday night, seeing you buy a car like his, brought back a lot of good memories, not many good examples of those car left.

Love the Monte Carlo and would definitely go with a Pro Charger since it's a stick shift! Good clutch set up and a "Bang Shift Billy" digital adjustable time based release hydraulic throw out bearing to get that slip just right off the line.

Bill, I honestly almost cried when you got rid of that sweet Nova. I can’t get why your crew doesn’t love it. At least it’s going to an exceptional new home. They will treat it right. I loved the blue nova Billy had for a minute too. Those are the two coolest cars you’ve ever had on the channel, except the 55s of course, that’s a tie. And I love all your cars. Well love is too strong a word for a mustang, but you get the idea. Good luck with the g-body I’m sure it’ll treat you well.

Gonna agree, never been a fan of the 78-80 Monte but I own a car that also some love or hate. Its a 1978 Olds Cutlass Salon with a factory 305 chevy and 4 speed manual too. The Monte does look good though with the black/red como.

Oh sweet!!! I had a dark green Monte Carlo with black leather inside and a 400 SBC and I drove everywhere in that car I loved it. I put the black TA snowflakes on it and it handled awesome.

My 98 Suburban did the same thing last week. I had a 79 Monte with a 3 speed. That was back in 96. Someone had painted it green. It was a red on red car. So I got it cheap. Green with red interior. Earl Scheib paint job too. Just painted the outer sheet metal. Didnt paint jambs or under the trunk lid or hood. 305, 3 speed on the floor. Wish I would have kept it.

My first car was a 78 Grand Prix! I loved that car and had 3 other Grand Prix. There was one of them that i blew up the six cylinder and ended up junking it. The bad thing was there was nothing else wrong with it and had absolutely no rust and it was a bucket seat car.

Memories. My first car was a silver with red interior 78 Monte with Cragers. Had the v6 and wouldn’t fall out of the tree. Had to go around a wet road corner just to spin the tire. Love the styling but not so much the bumper strip inserts. The stick just pushes the cool factor up several notches.
