@@MahBor Mine was from the US electronics store Microcenter. They had a $100 off coupon for the $199 printer. I got it around a year or two ago and have seen the same coupon online recently. I assume it is a normal thing

imo this is a great thing if you arent sure if you want to get into 3d printing, its cheap, if you like it use it untill it breaks or stops meeting your requirements or just throw it away instantly and buy a new better printer from prusia, bambulab or other reputable brands, and if you dont like it you didnt waste a lot of money

i think there must be a way to actually upgrade this thing and make it liek an a1 mini.... i mean it IS impressive that this easytyhread "Kids 3d printer" ended up even working at all. it is liek a toy but its a shame that thats all it can end up being because of the lack of firmware, chinese companies are always doing that, they needto standardize open source their shit and just let the west develop the software for them...

I'm interested in buying a 3D printer, on the cheap. When you say that this 3D printer is not compatible with other firmware. Does that mean I am not able to design my own design and have it print? I only want to print one thing repeatedly.

No, you can easily do that, gcode is supported. You might need to tweak your part and the tolerances might be interestingly variable. Listen to the advice and buy something for twice the price, time per print might halve or more.

Definitely, it’s how we got consumer level 3d printers. Just lookup the RepRap project and Adrian Bowyer. Tom actually has a video where he interviewed Adrian on this very subject.
