Yup, 1/4 mile light races will do it every time! (Did you know drag races were invented by gearbox companies?) It will be a lovely car when done, but at $8500 just for a clutch I estimate upwards of $30.000 to get it right.

A mechanic years ago told me in frustration that "Lamborghini builds the Murcielago starting from the clutch, and assembles the entire car around it" because it was such a hell of an intensive job to replace it... I can't imagine getting to the gearbox being any easier so good luck to Hoovie, this won't be a cheap one to fix I'm afraid...

This is what performance cars are like. These aren't luxury cars just because they're expensive, they're expensive because they're built for performence, and that performence naturally leads to more expensive parts that require more frequent replacement. Purpose built race cars are totally torn down and rebuilt very regularly with a super high price tag and no concern what so ever with driver comfort. It's the price you pay when you hit peak engine power designed for speed. I explain this regularly to individuals that ask me why I don't go much higher than 350 to 400HP on my builds or "gut and cage" it. I like my cars to have a more Touring feel. As for the lack of a standard transmission. Get. Over. It. Not only does it shift faster, you can drive harder and faster as you keep full steering wheel control. The driving experience is so much better you can't understand. These aren't the days of hyrdrolic and sloppiness of old automatic transmissions are gone.

I actually love the orange paint and white/orange dreamcicle interior scheme. In most true manual cars, 1st gear is not syncromesh and you need to press the clutch to go into 1st, but all the other gears can sync up and rev match without clutching... but this has no clutch pedal-even though it still has a clutch instead of a torque converter...it's an electric manumatic transmission..which seems like an oxy moron. But the problem is probably either with 1st gear itself, or something in the clutch or the electric stuff controlling it.
