Hello, everyone! I bought HEPTYL - The Most Dangerous Substance!? You will be surprised to see the title of a video. But I will prove in this video that HEPTYL is the most dangerous substance in the world. While reading the latest news, I noticed that many companies are starting to make more efficient and cheaper space rockets, some of them can even return to the ground and deliver cargo to orbit for less than 100 dollars per kilogram. Surprised?
Attention! This video shows dangerous experiments! Do not repeat the experiments shown in this video!

I wonder why the views on the english channel are way lower than the other channel. There are plenty of people on both languages and arguably way more on english since that is the language many countries learn as the second language. NileRed is way lower quality compared to thoisoi yet he get's a lot more views while doing useless non-educational content. Thoisoi deserves a lot more recognition, he earns it, his quality is just awesome.

@@Splarkszter Because KZbin isn't about who makes the more educational content. Consider the fact that Mr Beast has the #1 channel on KZbin for a moment. When a channel with informative and technical content succeeds, that's an outlier. Plus, Thoisoi being at nearly a million subs on his English channel is still pretty impressive for a channel focused on educational chemistry content.

Next time you want to make the freezing mixture or "cold bath" with ethanol and dry ice, you might want to try reversing the order of addition: Start with a beaker with chunks of dry ice in it, and then slowly dribble ethanol into it. The same sublimation and dissolving process will happen, but with less liquid in there to begin with, it should be less violent and not splash the ethanol around as much. Also, once you have filled it to the volume you need, there should still be some solid dry ice left, so the solution will be saturated. In which case the temperature reached will be a lot colder - a saturated solution of dry ice in ethanol should get to more like -80 degrees C. If you keep it in a saturated state by ensuring there is always some solid dry ice immersed in the ethanol, then it will remain at that temperature. Much like how a mixture of water ice and liquid water stays at (or very close to) freezing point and won't increase in temperature until all the ice has melted.

-The Challenger space shuttle accident was caused by leaking gasses due to a cold "O" ring that allowed the external tank to fail due to overpressure. There was no actual "explosion", other than the tank failing and releasing all the hydrogen and oxygen at pretty much the same time. That blew the orbiter apart, and the astronauts were alive but probably unconscious when the front of the orbiter hit the water at high speed. They died of multiple blunt trauma, much like people in car accidents.

When I was a lot younger, the first science fair in my school came with the ideia that, alongside with shows and demonstrations from the nature sciences themselves, they decided to open a space for a "rocketing hight-fly competition"... my group entered the wave, and I was responsable for both projecting the rocket model and to take care of the fuel that would be used (since the competition stablished only that "would win the rocket that gets higher", and not about how or with what the rocket would be made) and, as a lover of the history of the space race, I researched for a few days just to find that rockets like Volstok I (If I'm not mistaken) or Saturn V were based at the mixture of these two bad boys at the end of the video and... I, as a 14 year-old tryied to went out in the search of the "unsimmetrical dimethyl hidrazin" by myself in the internet and chemical stores.... hopefully the fair was canceled toghether with the rocketing competition, since I asked for a teacher of mine that (I imagine that without knowing much about the chemical itself), after had heard my story about the liquid propelent, to help me obtain it, with the now scary fact that he really tryied to help me buy the thigamajig in professional chemical stores (aparently, he had taken that seriously)... Thanks Thoisoi for explaning and demonstrating the why the cancelment of this fair was probably one of the best things that could happen to me! (also... I loved the way you talked in the videos prior to the use of software so... please, give us your voice back!)

The Saturn V used liquid oxygen/kerosene in the first stage and liquid oxygen/liquid hydrogen in the upper stages. The R-7 family uses liquid oxygen and kerosene. Some people said you mentioned somewhere about burnout some people say something else, so it would help if you explain to them. If you changed voice because someone complained ignore them your voice is fine. Lab flames have a habit of spreading - hope you get your lab back together soon. I had an ether fire in my fume hood (yes, I was using a flame-proof ceramic heater) and I didn't notice it until all the hairs on my arms started vapourising. The real fun started when I tried to smother the fire with a fire blanket and ended up wafting burning ether onto the floor - I didn't know I had done this, though, until my lab partners started jumping around with their legs on fire. By this point, the ether burned out, and I was super grateful I had remembered to put the lid on the winchester of ether.

@5:50 The Shuttle SRBs were destroyed ("exploded") by the Flight Termination System. They did not explode "on their own" due to some failure. What actually caused the the destruction of the STS, was burn-through from one of the SRBs, into the main propellant tanks -- which in turn caused structural failure of the entire STS as a system. The release of a huge amount of liquid oxygen & hydrogen ignited to conflagration, rather than detonation. It was drastic aerodynamic changes, that the Shuttle was not designed to withstand, which destroyed the vehicle. The rather macabre evidence for this fact, is that the Shuttle crew managed to change a number of flight parameters & electronic switches/settings *after* the disintegration of the Shuttle; some of the crew may have been alive for some time while tumbling back down towards the ocean; brain function likely ceased long before impact.

This is the first video of yours i see, and i like it! I'd agree with the many others who prefer to hear your voice over a narrator. My reason is that as someone who learned enlish later in life, i like to watch people while they speak, so i understand better. It is a bit confusing to me that the lip movements aren't really synchronous with the voice i hear. Even though the narrator does a good job and is easy to understand.

As for that MythBusters episode with the salami as fuel...If they had a more concentrated heat source with a better way of directing that heat to a concentrated flame...and had a way to semi heat that Salami so the oils would produce gasses, I think they might have succeeded.

I thought they needed to meter out the nitrous more slowly since it exploded any time the salami actually ignited. Fortunately, they are too smart to listen to me😉

I'm sorry, the synthetic voiceover triggers my misphonia and makes this almost unwatchable for me. Maxim, please send notice if you ever return to using your real voice and i will come back to this fabulous channel. ✌️

Yeah, I'm with everyone else. We all prefer your actual voice. None of this voiceover crap. We all come here for the scientific content primarily, but also your personality. Please bring back your authentic voice.

The space shuttle Challenger accident was caused by hot combustion gases from the booster sneaking past a field joint and impinging on the support strut and the external tank leaving to catastrophic failure of the strut breaking and smashing into the external tank and rupturing it

I hate to be just another person saying the voice change was a bad idea, but don't be ashamed of your personal english dubs, it gives the channel character.

5:01 As a kid with my friends I used to tape those engines to a bamboo skewer and launch them that way lol. It's pretty amazing actually. I had the idea to make it so when the end blows out(for the parachute) it would ignite something but don't remember if I ever tried anything.

Seven astronauts on Challenger, not eight. And it wasn't the solid rocket that exploded, but the main tank. Please don't misinform people about such basic facts.
