Just as others have mentioned, it does need a dab of oil before you use it kzbin.infoUgkxSlytCJqozTF7EbdP4LWP-HUXf9WRDJ0e - put a few drops in through the convenient screw cap and you are good to go! I have fished several weeks with a couple of these, and I will be getting more in the future. I put these against my Abu Garcia Pro Max reel, and they actually perform a bit better than the Abu with some of my lighter cranks, and definitely just as good with the rest of my lures. My Abu is a bit more low profile and fits my hand better, but these are definitely not bad at all. You can almost get 3 of these for the price of my Pro Max. My only complaint is the thumb bar sits pretty high compared to my traditional profile Abu. Bring that thumb bar down a little and I’m sold on these all day long.

The spool tension knob is a zero adjuster. It's designed to be difficult to turn because it's set that way from the factory, however you can adjust it to your preference. Great reel btw!! Hope you enjoy it! Next purchase should be a bfs reel. Most fun throwing light baits down to a gram in weight.

So with daiwas the tension knob is preset by the factory and if you adjust it they make noise when you cast them. That feature is only on the more expensive and newer diawas

Norm for a challenge video y'all should try fishing with ester line, Varivas makes some you can get in the US. Its only available in like 2.3lbs test and below and is crazy sensitive and also snaps incredibly easy, youre supposed to fish it with a fluoro leader to absorb shock, could be a damn funny video if one of the guys doesnt know what line it is lol

That tension knob is set from the factory by Daiwa so you shouldn't have to mess with it when switching baits, only the brakes. That being said the Steez CT SV is a monster. I'd love to have one eventually.

The most is prolly the Shimano Antares dc md xg or the 2021 Antares dc. Your pushing 700+ for a low profile but some of the motorized ones are 1200+ but those are for exclusively saltwater and you can’t cast them only deep sea.

I think the older Abu Garcia round reels or the Abu japan reels the 2500 Ambassadeur upgraded is a lot of money and if the reel is rare it can be over $600-1000 U.S and the one sunset orange can be $1000-2000US and it’s mostly for finesse like your new one and it’s spool size that can determine backlash I think so if the spool can hold a lot of line then the spool moves slower if it hold less the spool is light and spins faster reducing backlash

The most expensive bait caster from Shimano would be the Antares dc I believe. Here in Japan the msrp is 77000 jpy which is about just under 700usd. They retail for 62000 jpy which is about 560usd.

OK, aircraft have T6 7075 aluminum which is regular ole' aluminum. Ar-15's are made with that too. It's a tougher type of aluminum. I'm no aluminum specialist but I see it all over.

Did you spool the line onto the reel? That Twing is tricky the first time you spool those! I had to give a customer a free spool of tatsu after I messed up while I was spooling his. It’s crucial to get that knot as tight and small as possible dead center of those bad boys!! I think you should respool yours!! You won’t see anything at all that looks like backlash!
