I'd say from how it's running the cylinder liners are cracked, you can have these machined out and new liner put in but it's probably cheaper just to get a replacement engine.

Head gasket is more likely. Cracked liners is less of a issue than everyone makes it out to be.

Good luck with it, was curious why my 2007 ST-2 with xenon’s doesn’t have the Auto Lights position on the headlight switch like yours does!! Any ideas lol

Smoking exhaust could be a liner and not cheap to get sorted, new liners can be done but expensive . Or could be a head gasket, these are not cheap to run and maintain.

I fully prepared to swap the engine if need be.

It would be the cheapest option, try to get one with the block mod done if you can, although impossible to prove from the outside 👍

Just scrap it. 99% of st225s have been thrashed. Yes its a volvo engine but its got cheaper internals. They aint even quick. They sound nice though. 5 pot burble.
