P.S. I shared this on F.B. also. I live in the area that was struck by Hurricane Michael. After 2 months we still have a lot of people without homes or utilities. I know because I had been watching you & others like u,we were a lot better prepared to go with out electricity than most around us. We had a 12 volt fan, butane stove & a charging station to keep our phones (that still had service) charged. We also had lights. We didn't have a generator but we had more than most to be as comfortable as we could be. So a huge thank you for all you have shared over the years. Even if you aren't wanting to completely off grid, the knowledge here has helped in other dire situations. So Thank you my friend sincerely!.😍😘💖🤗

I researched a few months and bought 2 Luci lights. You’ve saved everyone a lot of time and effort.

I have 2 Luci lights and after a year they no longer charge to full capacity. There are 3 dots that light up showing the battery capacity and they never get past 2. I'm in Yucca, AZ and they were out in the sun for 2 days. Each day of sunlight was from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. and were not turned on for those 2 sunny days. I used these lights every night 9 months and then as backup when my other solar lights dimmed because of rainy or cloudy days preventing a full charge. I also prefer these lights hung without inflating. In my minivan the light was brighter this way. I don't know the name of my favorite solar light, but I believe you recommend it in 2017. It has a large solar panel I glued strong magnets on and it has been out in the weather 2 weeks short of a year. This is similar to the Moresky one and can charge a cell phone and be used with AC. This light is used every day and stays bright for 8 or more hours if there are no clouds. It still charges under cloud cover but dims sooner. Just ordered the ELlight E27 to replace the solar light in my trailer bathroom because that solar panel is too small for the decreased sunlight of winter. I can let you know how that works out if you are interested because it was expensive and I am hopeful for good results.

I really liked your excellent solar light comparison. Another light to consider is the Solarpuff which is around $20.00-25.00 and holds its charge for 8-12 hours. I’ve had mine for a couple of years and use it daily. It still looks and works like new. The company also donates lights to places hit by disasters. They are coming out with a new light this spring which has a usb charger as well. Thanks again for the excellent review. Oh, I forgot to mention that the light comes in warm or cool and one version even has red for night vision or colors for celebration.

I've had my Luci lights for several years, they still work just as well as the day I bought them. I use them not only for camping but during power outages. I live in a local that is get's a lot of power outages, sometimes for days/weeks. Luci has never let me down. Agree with you they may be funny looking, but they work great.

Great video Bob! I would appreciate both an in-van test for brightness and the number of hours the Moresky and KKBols stayed bright. If Luci is now making a light with a usb port, how about a test of that as well. So far my Luci has been the brightest and longest lasting of the different solar lights I've tried!! Thanks for such useful information!!!

I think the two globe style lights make the most sense because they are flexible. Most people own a USB power bank and you could recharge them from that fairly easily as a back up for rainy days. Or you could recharge your phone or other USB device with their solar panels.

Hello Bob There is a company in Earth City Missouri , Diode Dynamics , they manufacturers & sell the BEST ,LED lights and HID lights. Of all colors , headlights, taillights, brake lights, dome lights , marker lights , from standard output to super high output. I use the LED highest output bulbs for brake lights and tail lights 2 bulbs for $90 , money well-spent. For people that can't see good at night. I recommend the high output hid , with a high output wiring harness , with Optical beam headlights lens replacement assembly , sold by LMC Truck, in Kansas City. You can Google both web sites.,PS the high output wiring harness for the HID HEADLIGHT SYSTEM, sold at Diode Dynamics , is better quality then a harness from LMC truck. When it comes to the wiring harness. Hope this helps. Have a great RTR and a Merry Christmas.

I watched this a few days ago and today I thought of something to contribute. There is one more form of light that should be considered. Have you seen the solar rechargable yard lights that house dwellers can use to light up their landscaping? They have a solar panel on top and a light under the solar panel, then a pointy thing at the bottom to stick it in the ground. We have used them a bit--just a bit--and had some success with them. The thing is, we bought ours for a dollar each at various times and in various stores. They have some bigger, fancier ones too. Might be a worthy idea.

I received my KK Bol light today. I'm very impressed. I tested it in one of my bathrooms thaf doesn't have a window and it was pretty bright. I think two of them in a van would be perfect. Of course, I don't know how long it will stay on.

I've already ordered the KK Bol light. I think, for comparison purposes, since these are mainly for use inside, it would be good to show how they lightbup the inside of the van.
@whatnext7155 жыл бұрын
That’s a good idea. The lantern style lights seem to throw light off to the side rather than down to the ground which might be pretty effective inside a car or van but it just gets lost the way they were tested. Overall, it’s very helpful to hear about this range of less expensive solar lights. For me in the northeast, USB charging is a must. The usb chargeable luci light is about $35 which makes it significantly more expensive than the chargeable models you have shown. I’ll be really interested in reliability over time. The luci seems to have a good rep which might make it worth the $15 more if the others don’t last over time.

I'm just going to add this here.. I'm in Chicago and it's winter with the limited sunny days/bright sun, but when I do get enough sun to charge this light is runs all night and also has a usb power up outlet, now it does have a price point at 32.99 on Amazon, but based on it's performance thus far in my stikk and brikkk I'm going to bring it on the journey as my main solar light. ?Thanks and I Will be watching your videos going forward for future inspirations/guidance.
