I bought too many books, and now I have a new shelf, so let's decorate it

I'm not going to lie, I wish I could fit my entire TBR onto one shelf. You're already too powerful for me. 😆 Imagine being able to resist buying every good book you see.

Hahaha I used to have it across 3 shelves on the thinner shelf and it made me feel crazy 😂 I have enacted a lot of self control over the last month or so - there have been so many times I’ve *barely* talked myself out of buying a new book 😅

@@EmsCozyverse Right now mine is piled up over 3 different shelves, too! It's making me so stressed out, and tonight I'm re-doing my shelves, so we'll see if I can fit them onto one. Maybe I should look into speed reading, too. 😭

I like to separate them by genre and then by height! I think it's nice to see all the similar books together in their genre, but the smooth look of all the books being the same height is also very pleasing to me haha

Ooh! I used to do by height too! I think I still do sometimes when I’m not as focused on color - it feels like a little bit of everything now 😂

I love the decorative lamp and flowers shelves. It looks so good 😍 Because I don't have a lot of physical books, I was able to organize them by YA or adult. We'll see how it will go as my book collection grows 😅

I love the lamp in the shelves!! such a neat idea! I used to organize mine by book size. then when I moved to Massachusetts, I decided to organize my stand alone by color and put series and graphic novels on the skinny billy. but I’ve found I like them separated by genre, which makes it hard when I get new books and the section is already full lol

Yes I’m already worried about expanding some of the genre shelves (*cough* fantasy *cough*) I like the book size too - so satisfying! I think that’s why I usually play around with the idea of grouping my book of the month books together

I have like 6 5-shelf bookshelves that are nearly full to capacity, like 1.5 of the bookshelves is my TBR and I also have a TBR cart. Not counting the books in my TBR that I haven’t purchased (YET!). You’re absolutely amazing with your self-restraint! I want to be like you one day 😂

😂 is it bad that that makes me feel better? I used to be the person who wouldn't buy new books at all until I finished the last 1-2 that I bought so 1 shelf feels like a lot to me 🫠 maybe someday I will join you hahah

@@EmsCozyverse oh man! No it’s not bad at all lol! I’ve made books my emotional support, and I also collect pretty books. I’ve made myself stop buying pretty books for the time being as it’s EXPENSIVE! But regular books, or even trophy books, that’s a different story haha!

Found your channel via this video and instantly subscribed! My shelves are a currently separated by age-range and genre, but I love a rainbow shelf if I can manage at least one. The shelves look so great, you did such an amazing job both on the shelves and the video! If you want to keep the non-fictions together with the fav non-fictions/memoirs like you did with the other fav authors, you can move the lego flower shelf and swap those two shelves to keep them together, just a thought (Though I do really like the look, aesthetically, of the two tall shelves being at different heights lol)

welcome!! I think i'll have to separate by age range next time (at least for fantasy). also I totally forgot moving the lego flowers shelf was an option 😅 I might play around with it or use the memoirs to stack under the vase if that makes sense? time will tell!
