I had a stroke when I was 9 and after regaining the ability to walk again, I began bowling. I didn't do very well the first year or two, but I ended up becoming good at it over time. I've bowled 2 games over 200, a 243 and a 210, 2 games in the 190's, 5 in the 180's, and well over 50 games in the 150's-170's range. I learned a lot of what I know about bowling from my PawPaw and from watching the PBA on Sundays growing up. One of my favorite bowlers as a child was Bill O'Neil.

I'd guess to get the Strike pot you'd have to strike in a certain number of designated frames. A league that I used to bowl in had a jackpot where you had to close 3 specified frames in each game, the fill ball in the fourth game had to be a strike.

Basically, what David said above me. I bowled many leagues where the strike pot was getting a strike in frames 2,5,7, and 8 in the first game. 1,6,8, and 9 the second game, and the third was randomized weekly. If you paid a dollar to enter the pot and struck on all of those frames, you won the total pot. Would often be well over 600 USD. My father once hit it when it was 3500 USD it hadn't been won in months across the 10 leagues that center ran during the summer
