You should make treats. Theres different types for different mobs and you can tame them. You can then make them soulbound so they respawn after a while when they die. You can ride on some or some of them fight so its pretty useful.

If you want to not constantly die, take out the first aid mod, I did this myself when playing RLcraft and it balances the game a good bit, because a single skeleton can’t instantly kill you by shooting you in the head, which effectively only needs 3 hearts of damage direct to it to kill you, though if you take the first aid mod out you need to change the crafttweaker otherwise it bugs out a big with the recipes that don’t really exist without the first aid mod but the crafttweaker is hard coded to put in. You should also know mobs in purple flame are blights from the scaling health mod, and give you lots of EXP and extra hearts, which can help you survive, though to balance that out they are very strong, and often incredibly fast. Scaling health also increased the health of enemies over time, killing enemies and just being in game over time raised the difficulty, but increased difficulty increases the EXP gain, just much slower than the health (and if I remember right armor and damage). That might help you survive a little bit, I played a few hundred hours of RLcraft a couple months back on a server I hosted with some friends I had. Also your comment on enchanting, from personal experience you’re likely to get better value for levels by disenchanting loot you get than by enchanting stuff, or enchanting books, especially because many good loot sources from enchanted things that have multiple enchantments, and you can get good enchants from them that you’d be really unlikely to get from RNG enchanting items or books. Also, the skill trees, the first one you keep putting points into, like magic, let you use items, and that’s pretty much it. The second skill tree, that you chose a specialization in, gives you buffs to things, for example, if you max out the green thumb skill, you can stand next to crops (as long as they’re in season, or under greenhouse glass) and make them grow multiple times faster, to the point where you can watch them grow stages every few seconds, you can also upgrade furnace tick speed to the point you can use a single stick to smelt multiple ores, and get more than one output for every input, potentially letting you get say 36 ingots from only 24 iron ore, which you smelted with a single piece of coal. Basically the second skill tree has great buffs, the problem for balancing is those buffs are late game, they cost a lot of levels and the level costs increase fast, you need to be able to not only survive, but consistently hold at least 30 levels or more levels with the first skill tree maxed to use at least diamond equipment, with ample resources to properly hunt mobs before you start seriously investing in those skills, otherwise you’ll use levels fast for small buffs, since the buffs need multiple levels of the buff to really take a noticeable effect.
