The Rhinosaurus is the earliest difficult mob I have found. It took me three tries to kill it, and even then I opened the fight with dynamite and then shot sticks at him as he barfed on a tree. Poor tree... Pro tip: Yes, never get close to a Rhinosaurus as it's generally risky, but they drop a scale or two that is important for a Lv 4 crafting table.
