You saying that The Secret History is 10 years older than you and I’m here crocheting in the corner laughing about how old I am 😂 You picked up some really great books. I’ve read a few of them and I’m going to be incredibly evasive and say I really loved some of them and others I actively really disliked, but I’m not going to tell you which is which so I don’t taint your opinion of any of them ☺️ I hope you enjoyed your birthday! 🎈

Hi Aisling! I'm so glad to see you here! Thank you for your comment ❤ Ahh! That's okay, you can be sneaky, I plan to share my thoughts on these books when I finish them, though most of them fall outside of my science fiction/dystopia comfort zone 😅 Thank you for the birthday wishes! I hope you have a great day!

I am also so excited to finally read The Glutton- I read Manningtree Witches and loved Blakemore's writing. I totally agree with the page counts haha over 400 is hard for me to pick up but I am usually glad when I do. I'll probably read The Secret History in the fall because you know... dark academia vibes, I have also been meaning to do a re-read of Pride and Prejudice lol. My year of rest and relaxation I thought I wouldn't like but ended up loving it- the writing is so fun. We definitely have lots of overlap in books!

Hi Julia! I agree :D I know the saying is to not judge a book by its cover, but I must admit I'm drawn in by the pretty ones ❤✨ Thank you for your comment!

What a great pile of books! I have read To kill a mockingbird in school (loved it, I don’t remember it as sad particularly, although yes, but more just good, it’s a gets you in the heart and brain kind of book). Don’t fear! I’ve also read the Secret history, it’s not for me, but then I’m older than it so maybe that’s the problem ^^ You might love it! Plenty of other ones here that I want to read as well. And I love that you had a moment at the museum. That’s what life should be made of, in my opinion. Having an experience and just having a moment. Moments are great. Moments are the best part. Hope you’re doing well 💜

@@ellenmadebookclub Hi Ellen! I haven't heard much about To Kill a Mockingbird before, so I'm truly going in blind, but it makes me feel better that it isn't only a 'sad' book. From the little I've read already it is definitely something that gets you in your heart and brain. I've seen The Secret History all over Pinterest. I'm a little worried that the pace will throw me off (Dr Amy rated it one star, which isn't promising 😅) but we'll see. Museums are such amazing places. To have all that history under one roof. Each artifact, big or small, with its own story or family - mindblowing. Hope you have a great day ❤️

@@elmossy I would like to reread it at some point, so let me know if you want to buddy read it. Mockingbird I mean. No rush though ^^ I think you should give Secret history a go, lots of people love it. I would be interested to hear you thoughts on it. I took me months to get through, but it was also the first book I read after not having read for years, which might not have been the best decision 😂 I’m having a rubbish day so far, thank you, but it’s lookin’ up! 😊💜

@@really.rileyy Hi Riley! Glad to see you. How are you doing? Woah, congrats on reading twelve already, you've almost reached your goal! Which ones have you enjoyed most? And I've been doing alright, thank you. I've almost finished book thirteen (Annihilation by Jeff Vandermeer). I hope to finish some more abandoned book soon, too. Hope you're doing great today ❤️

@@elmossy I'm doing amazing! Thanks for asking :D I'd say my favourite book I've read so far this year has to have been Suddenly a Murder by Lauren Munoz. It was full of plot twists and the ending was really unexpected. I was hooked from the start right to the end. Hope you have a great day today.
