I caught you when you were flying through packing up at the very end of the expo. Thanks for taking the time to sit down anyways and talk to my buddy as if you weren’t in a rush. Your kindness and respect was definitely noted, you’re a great guy man

Though I had an absolute blast at Overland Expo West this year as well, one of the highlights for me was meeting you and getting a chance to see your beautiful rig at the show! Thanks for taking the time to talk for sure, it made my day! Keep the videos coming, and who knows, perhaps soon, my crew and I will be up your way and take you up on your offer to do some exploring in BC!

Thanks for taking the time to come down to our neck of the woods down in Arizona. Seems your Gladiator is cursed when coming out here. Might need to Upgrade to a Toyota, All joking aside, Thanks for taking the time to talk with me and my wife! It was such a pleasure talking to you. I put your sticker on my mug and carry it around with me everywhere I go! Look forward to traveling up to your neck of the woods and one day seeing you out on the trails!

Thanks for walking me around your truck, Shaun. I plan on reaching out to Epic about a build in the (near?) future. I also scooped a Sherpa rack at 20% off during the Expo, so pretty happy about the whole event. Oh, have to add that my wife is Filipino so I had a good laugh when I heard the crazy Pinoy overlanders at the end. Not at all surprised they treated you well!

Some pretty sweet setups going on there at the show. The talk you shared from Justin was really interesting, thanks for sharing that. There's so much to learn about breaking strength ratings on synthetics and the factors which reduce their effectiveness and overall safety. The trail destroyer looked great up front there Shaun, great video as always.

Thanks! Yeah I find synthetic rope stuff super interesting. There’s so much to learn and I’m far from an expert. Justin lives this stuff so he’s my go to for questions.

Welcome to Zona, born and raised here and theres so many beautiful adventures to be had in this state. Especially in Northern Arizona / White Mountains. Also that drive from Page to Flagstaff is always a beautiful one, just drove from Manti UT back to Phoenix and southern Utah is absolutely stunning.

We saw that Storyteller behemoth at Expo and a few days later we were dropping down Kelly Grade in Grand Staircase Escalante National Monument and saw it drive up to the bottom of the grade and fortunately wait for us to finish the descent. So nice he didn't push his uphill right of way. Our Transit van could pass Jeeps and such on most of the grade but trying to find a place big enough to pass him would have been a challenge. I can't figure out a use case for those monster rigs.

The best part was the end. Super welcoming group or folks. Filipino overlanders know how to cook and are super welcoming. (The majority I met and the ones I've camped with over the years) Did it seem like the crowds were smaller this year? Every video I've seen doesn't seem as crowded as in years past. I'm missing this year entirely, unfortunately.

Also, double check if the torque spec for your wheels calls for anti seize. If it calls for a torque without it, and summit used anti seize and torqued it to the spec, they over torqued the bolts. This has caused countless people serious problems because it does matter. Maybe not immediately, but the next time you pull them apart you may break the bolts because they were stretched too far.
