love me some arcade racing! cool to see the old daytona cab get a slick looking makeover. there's quite a few I loved playing in the arcade: outrun 2, intiial d, wangan midnight, daytona usa, super gt, crazy taxi... and every so often the new cruis'n is fun too.

Not sure what's more impressive, the Daytona 2 and Sega 3 board in an original Daytona USA cabinet, or the Aladdins Castle shirt from the Battlefield Mall. I swear I spent every coin I had trading it for Aladdins tokens and hitting it up after walking through the food court in Springfield. Great memories!

@cooltoy If you want the full size one is less rare so maybe trade a collector that has one of you keep the original parts from this one you might get a full one and then you won’t need to convert it. AFAIK the pedestal is also rare on this unit so treat it and its parts kindly. If I was in the states and owned the full cab I’d trade you, as I’ve always wanted the standup version.

Awesome build, and hard to beat the end cost. I have never seen a stand up Daytona USA. Any place that had a Daytona always had at least a 2 seat, while most had 4. Local mallcade is great with an 8 seater, with FFB seats. And i have never seen one of the cars down. Same place has a 5 player The Grid.

Unless you are using the exact same wheel and encoders as I did I couldn’t really help you out in that aspect as how I set up my games would be completely unique compared to your set up with different hardware

Is it easy to get an arcade shifter to work with your PC?
@cooltoy
@cooltoy 3 ай бұрын
Shifters are easy as they just use micro switches and can be connected to a pc with just about any kind of usb encoder. The tricky connections are pedals and steering as those require analog input signals to be read by specialized usb encoders
